Yep, the only "bad" wars are the wars that The Party opposes. I expect that the "anti-war" American left will rationalize any action taken by Chavez, even if he launches full scale conquest of northern South America and then Central America. The only protests will be to demand that the US stays out of it. This is the flippin' '80s all over again but with more money to back it up and higher stakes this time.

I bet Chavez will use this war to expand his powers as dictator and will do it under the guise of "Colombian terrorism". Boy, would that be funny! I am aware of Chomsky's writings, and i define myself as more of a right-libertarian (the only tax i could ever support would be an inheritance tax, as a dead person, in my view, cannot have its liberty infringed upon). I believe in private property, but i also believe it is necessary to reverse decades of profiteering by the robber barons allied with the government opression machine. This of course, would be eventually unecessary.

I dont think that makes me a libertarian-socialist, does it?

Maybe i have seen too much suffering in latin america that it has spoiled the true libertarian in me *sigh*

Outside of the truth, that it is plain old fashioned thievery, what would be the government's justification for an inheritance tax? The money has already been taxed. No, that is just plain theft, pure and simple.
