Ask Hugo Chavez

ImageI saved the entire country of Venezuela and all I got was this lousy Che T-shirt.

The BBC is sponsoring a Q&A for the People to post questions to The People's President, Hugo Chavez.

Many of the questions are thought-provoking and touching, such as:

President Chavez I salute your heroic effort of trying to establish a cartel of developing countries opposed to US tyranny. You will go down in history as one of the few leaders of the world not afraid of speaking out against George Bush's policies of oppression and exploitation. Thank you!
Michele, Rome, Italy

Congratulations Senor Chavez, continue with your economic reform at home. Abroad continue being a beacon of hope for all of us who resent and fear US imperialism
Steve Gowtridge, London, UK

So far you have shown that you are a revolutionary leader, who could stand against the big capitalist interest and US without fear. Many people around the globe appreciate you dearly. You are the hope of the poor masses. Greatest human being of the 20th century, Che Guevara would have thrilled to see your work. Keep up the hard work for a South American union, where exploitation and poverty would be history. Hasta la victoria siempre!
Matt, Montreal, Canada

Mr Chavez, I am a history teacher and an avid observer of Latin American politics. I want nothing more than for you to succeed in your social reforms. My question is why do you think socialism has not worked in Latin America? Does the US have something to do with its failure?

But we cannot rest as long as parasites like this infect the world...

I am a single mother of 3 with a food shop in Caracas. The government has just opened a Mercal store close to me with subsidised prices at 50% of what I can sell. My business will soon be finished. I am one of millions of poorer Venezuelans that are facing lower income and unemployment. Does the government plan to employ 25m people? Why don't they understand they can best help us by allowing our businesses to do well? Most of us do want work and do well and provide for our families.
Andreina, Caracas, Venezuela

Now, just who the hell does she think she is? I'll tell you who. A greedy bourgeois racist pig attacking the socialist ideals of The People and The People's President. We know who you are, capitalist swine...

Speaking of the last quote - why do the Chavez-loving socialists hate Wal-Mart? Come again? It drives mom-and-pop stores out of business? Right... Of course when a socialist government does it then it's fine to drive the petty bourgeois out of business. I never understood the liberals' concern for the petty bourgeois anyway. That's what the middle class is - the petty bourgeois. Very intractable and hard to re-educate. They'll all get a bullet to their heads after the revolution. That's how Ernie Guevara did it.

If I were a right-wing mad dog extremist I might say it's "Atlas Shrugged" all over again in Venezuela. I hear someone is talking of making that book into a movie. It would be hard to set it in a modern-day USA. They should set it in Venezuela instead. Francisco d'Anconia will come quite handy.

Why do we hate Wal-Mart? This is so obvious that it hardly warrants an answer. Setting aside their raping of public lands, their polluting the atmosphere, their denial of even the most minimal compensation to their employees, their racist union-busting tactics, and their crushing of honest businesses resulting in Amerikan cities becoming ghost towns -- setting aside all that -- they don't even have the human decency to even acknowledge The Revolution, the pigs.

Understand this: The parasitic so-called "small business" vermin infecting Venezuela and blocking the People's Revolution are one and the same as the domineering white men who control Wal-Mart. They work together, they sleep together, and they slobber at the same trough together.

In Amerika, we do not yet have moral leaders like President Chavez. So, in the interim, it is up to Amerikan family businesses to block the Wal-Mart monster. And when we finally do receive the the guidance of a Chavez, a Castro, or a Mugabe, AND IT WILL HAPPEN, then these businesses will volunteer to step aside and relinquish commerce to The People at long last. And that will be the test to determine who is among The People, and who is a saboteur.

You have no idea how goddam angry I am.

Worry not -- the IP address of every Venezuelan with spiteful words for our fearless leader will be ours (with the help of the Carter center). The Nobel Laureate Jimmy Carter certified that President Chavez was a beloved and popular leader several years ago during the "recall election" (otherwise known as the Bush coup attempt). Fairness is President Chavez's mantra. He will distribute fairness evenly, taking fairness from the fairful and giving it to the fairless. All fairity will be spread like a thin layer of butter on a smooth cornbread surface.

All you fairtators in the United States with disproportionate amouts of equality will suffer in the end as well. Mark our words.

I have my own questions to ask Mr. Chavez.

1. How many innocent people are you going to kill in order to raise yourself to the position of dictator so you can ignore the misery of your people while you sip your expensive wine?

2. Is it true that you also wear a picture of Che on the seat of your undies?
