Average Joe: The Return of Stalin Apologists

Average Joe: The Return of Stalin Apologists
Tomasz Sommer and Marek Jan Chodakiewicz
World Affairs Journal

For more than twenty years now, many thinkers in Russia have been free to reject Communism openly and borrow without fear or hesitancy from the latest Western intellectual fashions. This includes the West's penchant for moral relativism, which has been embraced with particular enthusiasm by Stalin apologists, who have, in the manner of Holocaust deniers, been working feverishly to establish the Man of Steel's innocence, in particular for the mass bloodletting of the Great Terror. The strange fruits of this revisionist endeavor, which has accompanied a general surge in Russian nationalism and imperialism, have cropped up in bookshops as shelves overflow with volumes adorned with Joseph Stalin's face, sanitized of its pockmarks, the authors determined to “prove” the utter innocence of the Soviet leader.

What!?! Here I clicked on this link thinking this was a story about me and my new comrade
ЗимнийСолдат and our beloved Stalin... This is not news Comrade Scratchy, Comrade ЗимнийСолдат and I have know this for some time.

Hail Stalin!

Our campaign to revise Comrade Stalin is already yielding the Sweet Fruits of Social Justice. You cannot imagine my delight at finding this, this fine young Canadian emulating our glorious Hero:

Comrade Darski,
You should receive a commendation for your efforts. It's obvious you've been very busy.

The speculation on the Polish officer degenerates who died at Katyn is interesting. Everyone knows they actually shot themselves and threw themselves into a mass grave, each after being led into a glorious Soviet barracks and learning how wrong they had been about Kommunism.

In the meantime, not that I'm biased or anything, but my secret boyfriend (because he doesn't know yet) Valery Gergiev is doing his part in the motherland to korrekt the Western lies about Stalin. As he tells me, "Stalin may have made mistakes. But at least he got everyone to work! Nobody wants to work around here anymore."

Who finds it of necessity to apologize for Stalin? Rubbish, I say! If anyone needs to apologize it is Bush!!

User avatar
You're darn right Fraulein! It's always Bush's fault.

Tsarevna,
Is this Comrade Val's secret tattoo?

Just in............
Uncle Joe Stalin wants in on the YouTube parodies game. He's sick and tired of that little snickelgrubber Hitler getting all the attention:

Well, Val told me once, "I have your name tattooed on my rear end." I was very touched about this, until I learned that what's actually tattooed on his rear end consists of the letters"Y-O-U-R--N-A-M-E". Or more likely,

"твоё имя"

Comrades-

You might find interesting reading over at SodaHead-

WHAT DO YOU KNOW OR THINK ABOUT THE COMMUNIST MANIFESTO?

This seems to be begging for comment from the People's Cubers

User avatar
Sexy, chedoh!!!

Comrade Scratch, that was the book I most enjoyed reading in college. My major was German, and I bought my German language copy in glorious East Berlin, where the People's Wall still stood, protecting the good people of the DDR from the degenerate influences of free commerce, fresh produce, and Kleingeld (coins) that did not float on water. It also protected the World's ugliest TV/radio tower, but I digress.

I enjoyed carrying the book around to co op and Wymyn's Group meetings, and being seen reading it. Of course, I didn't understand it. When I understood it, I became a conservative.

Commissar Rooster,
Where is ЗимнийСолдат (Zimniy Soldat)? I would have thought our new Comrade would be all over this thread.

Comrade ЗимнийСолдат finds your attempts to ridicule Stalin a fruitless effort of provocation especially since that canadian is using the brezhnev version of CCCP anthem also the homemade shoulder boards has the star placed backwards...

The youtube parody of Stalin is bad too so i got a better one and more accurate .

Comrade ЗимнийСолдат,
The young Canadian is just a boy, but you have to give him an A for effort. It's good for young people to have heroes.

"attempts to ridicule Stalin"
Good Stalin Comrade, why would I do such a thing? I was his Spiritual Adviser! That's why I'm so happy you posted that video of Hitler phoning Stalin. As Spiritual Adviser to both men it broke my heart when they had their "falling out". They were the best of friends until they started arguing over who's Socialism was best. It was awful. I tried and I tried to no avail. Well, we all know how it turned out. I still agonize to this day that I wasn't able to reconcile those two. At least I tried.

Interesting; not a very funny parody, is it?

Some say Stalin was just about as shocked when the Germans invaded as 90% of the Hollywood gliterati who'd alligned with the Communist Party here were when the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact was signed. You see, they 'd been cheering Comrade Stalin on, thinking he was the only one brave enough to face Hitler. One of the selling points OF the Party here was that they were anti-Nazi; the only ones really fighting fascism.

Needless to say, the news about the pact was confusing to say the least. And Moscow (who we now know, in true progressive fashion, kept the US Communist Party dependent on it by essentially funding it) insisted Earl Browder & Co. not try to explain anything, just support Hitler because he's our friend now. We are at war with Eurasia; we have ALWAYS been at war with Eurasia; we have always been friends with Oceana!

You may not have the same experience, but I personally found that my worldview opened up much more clearly when I stopped believing whatever my family told me. I'm just sayin....

User avatar
Comrade Zimniy Soldat,

I'm so glad you brought up Comrade General Secretary of the Comintern - Georgi Mikhaylovich Dimitrov (Георгий Михайлович Димитров). I had my suspicions way back then, but as the years came and went I'm more convinced than ever that it was Georgi who turned Stalin away from his good friend Hitler. In fact, I believe he engineered Hitler's rage against Stalin. He played them both. Acchk.......now I have a headache.

Sorry for the History lesson Comrades. I just had to get that off my chest, but hey, where else are you going to learn of such things? Faux News?

Thats bullshit Hitler and Stalin were never pals , the non agression pact won the soviet union a few years . Georgi Dimitrov was accused of Reichtag fires but knew how to defend himself against Göring and the other fascists , eventually they caught Van der Lubbe ..
Stalin arranged a soviet passport for Georgi Dimitrov and got him back via soviet embassy ..
Btw Without Stalin or Georgi Dimitrov there would be no Bulgaria today..

I don't know about that website Comrade Soldat. Look at some of the lies I found at Scribd.com:

[1.0] Stalin's Terror
v1.2.0 / chapter 1 of 17 / 01 feb 10 / greg goebel / public domain
* The Nazi-Soviet conflict was rooted in the rise of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) under Josef Stalin as a threat to Europe. Stalin had not appeared to be a natural leader in the early days of the Soviet regime, but a combination of deviousness, ruthlessness, and a complete lack of ethics brought him to the top. From his position at the tip of the pyramid, Stalin created a society rooted in terror and oppression.

[1.1] THE RISE OF JOSEF STALIN
* The name of Josef Stalin is recognized by all as arguably the most powerful, successful, and brutal tyrant of the 20th century, but his origins hardly hinted at what he would become.

Although Stalin's life is carpeted with layers of half-truths, myths, and lies, he is believed to have been born in Gori, Georgia, then part of the Tsarist Russian empire, on 21 December 1879, which by the "old calendar" then in use was 9 December 1879. He was the only surviving child of Vissarion and Yekaterina Dzugashvili, a cobbler and housecleaner. What kind of an upbringing it was is unclear. The family was without doubt poor, but though some believe that Vissarion Dzugashvili was a drunken and brutal father, there is no strong evidence that he was any rougher than was the norm for his place in society, and his son never made much of any childhood problems. It is known that Josef was raised speaking Georgian and did not learn Russian, a much different language, until he was about 8 or 9. He would speak Russian with a strong Georgian accent to the end of his days, long after
he had turned his back on all things Georgian.

Disgusting lies and half truths. That web site was full of them. It's sickening! This is why we have to get total control of the Internet Comrades. I'm mean, what if a small child were to read such drivel? That child would be traumatized for life or at the very worst grow up to become a Rethuglican or a,...sigh...a Tea Party Person.

Side note: Stalin was born on December 21st (The Winter Solstice). Many of the great leaders of history had celestial events mark their birth.

Commissar Red Rooster,
Forgive my manners (A Bulgarian, comrade?)
Yes. Georgi Dimitrov Mikhaylov (Bulgarian: Георги Димитров Михайлов), (June 18, 1882 - July 2, 1949) was a Bulgarian Communist leader.

Georgi_Dimitrov.jpg
Dimitrovmoskva.jpg
Statue of Dimitrov in Moscow
"Georgi Dimitrov was accused of Reichtag fires but knew how to defend himself against Göring and the other fascists"

Comrade Soldat was referring to this:
In 1933 he was arrested in Berlin for alleged complicity in setting the Reichstag on fire. During the Leipzig Trial, Dimitrov's calm conduct of his defense and the accusations he directed at his prosecutors won him world renown.

Good Lawd, looks like the Winter Soldier got thrown in the gulagotroll.... Guess he'll soon be six feet under like his tyrant god Stalin...

Kiss the bloody mass graves of over 100,000,000 million trusting private citizens, commie.

No millions were killed by such a great champion of the peoples democracy :

Some true info.

and this one

To prove that everything you've been told about Stalin is a lie , that he killed¨half of soviet population is as true as the lies about reported mass-bombings in Tripoli that they blame Ghaddafi for ..
Nobody would say "for homeland for Stalin" if he did that ...

But criminals like Putin enforce these lies cuz they sell out to best bidder
