Brazil's Embattled "Man of the People"

Investor's Business Daily - Brazil: The unspoken question on every USSA comrade's mind:

Should we be worried?

"Lula, the much vaunted socialist “man of the people” who founded the “Worker's Party” and has been praised by President Obama, was caught with his hands in the till one too many times and [has] finally been called to account. For years, officials have been looking at electoral fraud, pay-to-play kickbacks, and record-high oil earnings siphoned away to finance socialist presidential campaigns, and have sent many low-level players and private-sector businessmen to prison. Two weeks ago, they finally showed that the corruption went all the way to the top when they detained the former president and searched his home for ill-gotten gains linked to his involvement with a construction company."

Craptek, I have had it with your limp-wristed fear-mongering. Socialism IS the wave of the future!

Of course it destroys the fortunes, hopes, and prospects of the working class it claims to defend.

Without fail it devolves into rule by an elite kleptocracy that will do anything to keep itself in power.

It goes without saying that personal liberties have no place in a Socialist system.

Sure, it has failed or is failing in every country that has adopted it.

NINETY-EIGHT YEARS OF FAILURE MEANS NOTHING!

THIS TIME IT WILL WORK!

See: The United States government, the Patriot act, NAFTA, TPP, military actions that produce nothing but shrapnel and death, three-letter agencies, a propaganda machine the size of which the world has never seen nor will ever surpass, all ten planks of Communism in place, a global elite that control all political happenings behind the scenes, the mainstream media, multiple attempts at government control and censorship of the internet, career politicians, etc...

Relax Comrade,

Some dude named Cicero already brought that stuff up at our last meeting about 2100 years ago when he made the following observations and recommendations;

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed, lest Rome will become bankrupt. People must again learn to work instead of living on public assistance."
We're working on it!

For those amongst us who are not schooled in the classics, I marked Cicero on this painting.Auguste Levêque, Bacchanalia

Wikipedia on Bacchanalia, the Roman festival of the god Bacchus, god of wine (remember, no beer back in those days) and intoxication:

"Livy, writing some 200 years after the event, offers a scandalised, extremely colourful account of the Bacchanalia. Modern scholarship takes a skeptical approach to his allegations of frenzied rites, sexually violent initiations of both sexes, all ages and all social classes, and the cult as a murderous instrument of conspiracy against the state."

Sounds like a HELLUVA time!

And, let's be honest, the State would recover easily from such an event, we don't have to worry about conspiracy. And the all ages and social classes bit perfectly balances it out. But, if the State did fall, at least we'd have a good time doing it! And we'd have a State that could be based around the Bacchanalia.

Comrade Stierlitz! A nation based on Bacchanalia? Where can I sign up? I'm all "shovel" ready...
