DHS: CBP Agriculture Specialists Intercept Cache of Undeclared Queen and Worker Honey Bees at Laredo Port of Entry

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents at a Laredo, Texas port of entry stung a honey bee smuggling operation, seizing a cache of undeclared live queen and worker honey bees from a group of travelers in a pickup truck.

The bust of undocumented alien bees is unprecedented, Port Director Joseph Misenhelter says.

The illegal workers did not have the required permits; neither did their queen.

A shortage of worker bees needed to work on U.S. farms has, apparently, increased demand for undocumented worker bees willing to do the work that American worker bees won't do.

The case has been referred to USDA Plant Protection and Quarantine's Smuggling Interdiction and Trade Compliance (SITC) officers and Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service's Investigative and Enforcement Service (IES) for further investigation.

No word yet from the Obama Administration on whether or not the bees qualify for deferred removal.

Comrade, did you see the report that the bees were themselves smuggling undocumented documents? It is for this purpose that these hardened criminals were justly apprehended.

Eternal vigilance is what keeps the Party working for all. We must not relax our guard for any reason, even for bees.

Our taxes being put to good use.
I suppose if they were Killer Bees, than I could bee suspicious of this species.

Yesterday, we found a Carpenter Bee burrowing with great determination into one of our patio beams. Yes, a Carpenter Bee!

They should not be confused with Honey Bees. They burrow, as in, make tunnels to raise their young.
The female is the one that does the munching. The one we saw chomped a hole about 3/8” deep within an hour!

Just today, we did our part for the environment by zapping/busting her. The poor thing was instantly dead. I felt bad about killing her, after all, she was just doing her job. So, instead of wasting her in the garbage, we sautéed her in butter. It tasted just like chicken. True story!

I see a fast-food trend here and a way for all illegals to find their way into our country.

P.S. I don't know about you but, do you see an analogy here? You know, about bees using their own progeny to get in the USA?Edit: Clarification. The Female Carpenter Bees sting, but are more docile. The Male Carpenter Bees don't sting. They just act aggressive.
