Commousism

Comrades, to end this year in a lighthearted fashion...

I stumbled upon a small movie about a glorious social experiment with rodents. They were given a utopia-like cage with all their needs taken care of by a benevolent, transcendent authority.

Apparently, it all went wrong... not because of problems with the system of course! It was just badly implemented. It needed a good rodent leader (a squirrel, maybe?).

It will surely work the next time! Or the time after that. Or the one after that.

All glory to Commousism! Down with Cat-italism.

I am sure Komrade Minitrue means 'present company excepted'.

By the way, on a scale of 1 - 10 with Mr. Xhale City Vape Shop attendant representing a 10......

.......how offended are you?

Oh, and excellent video on Commousism Komrade Minitrue. Did they provide Vape, or some Beet Vodka to the commouse commune? If not, maybe that's why it was not successful.

Kind of a boring movie.

Willard was much more thrilling.

The "behavioral sink" experiments of John B. Calhoun. Should make cold chills run up and down any right-thinking comrade's spine.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behavioral_sink

"Universe" has much in common with the current U.S. society.

After day 600, the social breakdown continued and the population declined toward extinction. During this period females ceased to reproduce. Their male counterparts withdrew completely, never engaging in courtship or fighting. They ate, drank, slept, and groomed themselves – all solitary pursuits. Sleek, healthy coats and an absence of scars characterized these males. They were named "the beautiful ones".

To A Mouse, On Turning Her Up In Her Nest With The Plough

1785
Robert Burns: Poem

Wee, sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous beastie,
O, what a panic's in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
Wi' bickering brattle!
I wad be laith to rin an' chase thee,
Wi' murd'ring pattle!

I'm truly sorry man's dominion,
Has broken nature's social union,
An' justifies that ill opinion,
Which makes thee startle
At me, thy poor, earth-born companion,
An' fellow-mortal!

I doubt na, whiles, but thou may thieve;
What then? poor beastie, thou maun live!
A daimen icker in a thrave
'S a sma' request;
I'll get a blessin wi' the lave,
An' never miss't!

Thy wee bit housie, too, in ruin!
It's silly wa's the win's are strewin!
An' naething, now, to big a new ane,
O' foggage green!
An' bleak December's winds ensuin,
Baith snell an' keen!

Thou saw the fields laid bare an' waste,
An' weary winter comin fast,
An' cozie here, beneath the blast,
Thou thought to dwell-
Till crash! the cruel coulter past
Out thro' thy cell.

That wee bit heap o' leaves an' stibble,
Has cost thee mony a weary nibble!
Now thou's turn'd out, for a' thy trouble,
But house or hald,
To thole the winter's sleety dribble,
An' cranreuch cauld!

But, Mousie, thou art no thy lane,
In proving foresight may be vain;
The best-laid schemes o' mice an 'men
Gang aft agley,
An'lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promis'd joy!

Still thou art blest, compar'd wi' me
The present only toucheth thee:
But, Och! I backward cast my e'e.
On prospects drear!
An' forward, tho' I canna see,
I guess an' fear!

Calhoun's "behavioral sink" experiment reminds me of a book I read as a student, The Glass Bead Game by Hermann Hesse. In that story, humanity of the future had degenerated just like those mice, and created a sanctuary province for its intellectuals, where they were free to pursue any research they liked, all expenses paid by the state. This, too, degenerated into something similar to today's American colleges, where other people's money is used on entirely meaningless pursuits.

Granted, I may remember The Glass Bead Game incorrectly, but at least this was my impression of it when I read it many years ago. And I've been thinking a lot about this book lately with regards to the latest developments in our higher education offering courses in intersectional feminist interpretive synchronous underwater basket weaving.

As our follower on Twitter has pointed out, "That must be Karl Mouxe himself in the upper-right."
