LONDON, UK - This year's May Day saw a wave of anti-capitalist protests around the world, from the streets of Seattle to Red Square in Moscow to the rooftops of London, where the Chimney Sweeps Union struggled against the anti-chimney agenda of Big Electricity, which could destroy their once powerful union.

Union leader Dick Van Dyke commented on the situation as follows: “Our sweeps need job protection from new technology that is destroying our way of life. Corporate interests of Big Electricity are pushing us into extinction.”

Some of the chimney protesters asked us if we could spare a chimney to clean, but we had to decline since our chimneys could not join us in London.
