Venezuela's socialist justice imitates The People's Cube

What is linked here is supposedly an actual court document, filed by the Central Bank of Venezuela against a few expats living in the United States.

US DISTRICT COURT, DELAWARE: BANCO CENTRAL de VENEZUELA v. DOLARTODAY, LLC : DEMAND FOR JURY TRIAL

I'm not sure it's real. It reads like something that was created here.

The Poe's Law is strong with this one, Comrades.

COMPLAINT

Plaintiff BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA (in English, the Central Bank of Venezuela) (the “Central Bank”) alleges as follows.

THE GRAVAMEN OF THIS ACTION

1. How far will some go to enrich themselves (and their friends) and to regain the political power they crave to enrich themselves further? Would they go so far as to hurt their own countrymen by making their already challenging lives even harder?Defendants would. And they have.

2. La República Boliviariana de Venezuela (“Venezuela” or the “Republic”) is one of the oldest democracies in the Americas. Like many nations, the Republic faced along struggle for independence. And like many nations, the Republic currently faces some economic challenges that impose hardships on its people. Defendants are Venezuelan exiles living in the United States who virulently oppose the Republic'selected leaders, but not out of concern for their countrymen. To the contrary, Defendants seek only to grab riches and power for themselves and their friends, willingly increasing the hardships of ordinary Venezuelans in the process. And in a ruthless exercise of realpolitik, Defendants seek to trick the Venezuelan populace that elected the Republic's current government, hoping that voters will turn on their leaders, and blame them for the harm caused by Defendants. Indeed, Defendants hope that the discontent arising from their own misconduct will usher in a new government that will enable Defendants and their allies to get even richer, again at the expense of the Central Bank and ordinary citizens of Venezuela....

Although it's written almost in the glorious language of Stalin's show trials, the document seems to be real. Here's a page from PR Newswire, a paid service that publishes anyone's press releases for a fee (from a few hundred to a few thousand).

Venezuela's Central Bank Asks U.S. Court to Uphold Lawsuit Against Rogue Website DolarToday for Publishing False Currency Rates

Curiously enough, the U.S.-targeted press release contains fewer grotesque embellishments than the legal court document - perhaps, because the latter is the English translation from the original Spanish, meant to propagandize and agitate the unwashed toiling masses of Venezuelan workers and peasants.

Their moral indignation would have had more credibility if the Venezuelan government hadn't squandered its recent windfall profits from oil on supporting ruthless communist guerrillas like FARC in Colombia, or failing communist dictatorships like Cuba, or on a whole number of other hopeless causes.

I checked DollarToday.com - it's all in Spanish, as it is obviously published for Latin America's audiences.

I have reviewed the legal documentation submitted. I find no indication or mention of beets, vodka, or prohibition of red rubik's cubes... thus, the economy is stable and all is well.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Thanks (as always) for improving my post by adding a picture to it, Red Square.

There is only one problem: That's a JOHN DEERE tractor in the background.

In other words, made by Amerikkkan capitalist pigs!

But then, as a wag on another social media site has observed, "despite a supposed hate of 'capital' it complains of a lack of capital in [its] bank."

It's called "doublethink," Comrades. Don't try to think for yourself, Pinkie is lurking about here somewhere.

I trust Ivan on this one. He knows his tractors inside and out.

Is there a link to DT's motion to dismiss? When the Kapitalists finally are on trial for conspiring against glorious Venezuelan workers and peasants, this would be used against them! We need to send these documents to future Prosecutor Maduro and Chief Justice Obama for safekeeping!

I heard that he likes to watchthis video late at night. I also saw this coming off a freight truck in front of the tenement Ivan lives in, and upon reading the address I saw that it was addressed to Ivan. Only the State knows what he's doing with it, I don't see any heavy machinery he'd be needing to lubricate.

Does Poe work for Snopes.com? I'm just curious.

[OFF]

As far as I know it's just David and Barbara Mikkelson of Los Angeles, CA. At least they're the owners, there's nothing on their website about other staff. And seeing as the 'about" reads like Dave writing about himself in third person, I wouldn't have cause to think there's additional staff.

My gosh comrade! He does something else with it?
Yes, he puts the lubrication on his body.
