Yes, our comrades at Moonbattery and The Dicklist were the first to go there.....
Check TDL's archives for March 2006.

Ah, I am sorry to have brought up old news your Excellency. If you wish, feel free to delete this thread, for I fear I lack the power to do so. One can not have our Bunker cluttered with old news. I am so glad I found the Cube! I... egads! This use of the personal pronoun is so unkeeping with GoodThink™... We are so glad we found the Cube as our horizons have been expanded so greatly.

Thank you Comrade, and I must say I admire your Etch A Sketch "handheld." There are so many talented "photo journalists" at the Cube. Alas, when it comes to these sort of programs, the Pup has 2 left paws.

User avatar
I've never been good with one either, but has anyone else seen that interview with that guy who can do nearly life-like sketches with an Etch A Sketch? I was pretty amazing to see ho he can do that.

Pinkie off character, in fact way off her feed here--I'll spare you the details of how I lost that and a hell of a lot of perfectly good vodka when I clicked on the link Pup provided. At first I thought the whole thing was a joke of conservative origin, but as I surfed the site I realized that--well, while it's still a joke (just not the kind I thought), this is nonetheless a real book they're giving to their kids?!!? What a bunch of self-righteous sh--ulp--oh, now there goes my borscht. And right after I rinsed out my babushka!

I find it interesting the author can't find a real publisher for it in the very blue 212 area code.

Oh well, thanks anyway, Pup. And don't worry about me and my babushka. Stalin knows we all need a good "purge" now and then, da?

I dare say you can imagine the uproar and outrage that we would witness if such a book was put out titled Why Mommy is a Republican. There would be congressional investigations and bills put forth to ban it.

Personally, I think a parent (of which I am included) should keep this sort of indoctrination out of our kids mind till they get a little older, and are able to understand the concept of consequences. I have found that when they understand that, then you can give them all the info and let them come to their own conclusions. My son (14 yo) said to me recently while we were watching the news: "The Democrats just don't make any sense."

I almost jumped up yelling "Yes!!", but I kept my composure and and asked him why he came to that conclusion. He told me: "Well, if the US leaves Iraq, the people there won't have anyone to protect them from the bad guys."

I commended him on his thinking and we moved on. Nowhere before, or during that exchange did I ever tell him that Democrats are this, or the Democrats are that, I simply gave him both sides of the situation, and let him run with it.

Indoctrination at a young age - by either side- smacks of Stalinism, or Nazism. Just my opinion.

Which did set off a firestorm of controversy....

The book set off a firestorm of controversy when US News & World Report announced it, calling it "a picture book for kid conservatives." [2] The website Democratic Underground named the author to its "Top 10 Conservative Idiots" list.[3] Blogger Andrew Sullivan said the book reminded him of Chairman Mao and even mistakenly claimed it contained nudity, a charge later mocked by the Wall Street Journal.[4]

Yet who heard of the Mommy is a Democrat Book on the MSM? I know I never heard a word about it.

Congratulations on your kids wise choice. I have no children, but I do have 3 little girls that are sort of my adopted kiddos, they call me their uncle. But one thing is for certain.... one of the first thing a child does learn is consequences. Of course this knowledge is limited initially to short term consequences. But call me a Nazi or whatever, you can be sure I did my best to impart to the kiddo's my beliefs and values from a young age, for they will have a lifetime to be influenced by others.

Comrade K, I totally agree, and your son is a bright young man who'll go far.

As for why there's no "Why Mommy is a Republican"--there's no need for such a book, because that's a no brainer. Anyone who's informed and correct on all issues will tell you if Mommy's a Republican, it can only be because she's oppressed by Daddy, who won't let her think for herself or have a choice about anything except what he chooses, which is always Republican. To this end, he beats her up, won't let her put Junior in daycare so she can work outside the home, and on Election Day Daddy goes with her to the polling place and stands over her shoulder to make sure she votes Republican. Like all Republicans, Daddy uses fear to keep Mommy in line and thinking exactly like he does and believing all his conservative tripe.

That, or Mommy is just plain mentally deficient.

No woman would ever choose to be a Republican. She's either being forced against her will, or she's just plain mentally deficient. And of course the Democrats have a plan for those who are deemed mentally deficient.

What I don't understand (well, I don't understand a lot of things when I haven't had any vodka in the morning) is why Republican wives don't wear burqas.
