I agree. Furthermore, although the Inner Circle™ enjoys the highest standard of living, the proles are subject to much less close control of their daily lives than Party members, thus reinforcing their desire to not take our jobs.

Besides, revolutions are always started by the middle class and the lower classes would never start an effective rebellion on their own. Therefore, if the middle classes are so tightly controlled that the regime can manipulate their daily lives, the lower classes can be left to their own devices and pose no threat. As long as we take away their guns. And their food. And keep them drunk.
