Health Care Prophesies and Predictions

User avatar
Oh, glorious day. It's finally here! The health care bill has passed. Oh, wonders! Here are my prophesies and predictions regarding this new and wonderful piece of legislation:

No illness will go untreated.
More illnesses will go untreated.

The health care bill will prevent people from going bankrupt over health care costs.
More people will go bankrupt over health care costs.

Health care will be more accessible.
Health care will be less accessible.

No one will have to worry about losing health insurance.
More people will lose their health care than ever.

Millions more will be covered.
Millions fewer will be covered.

This will enable more citizens to get health insurance.
Fewer will be able to get insurance.

Education will be more affordable.
Education will be less affordable.

The health care bill will unleash entrepreneurial power.
The health care bill will squelch entrepreneurial power.

There will be improved care for our seniors.
There will be worse care for our seniors.

The health care bill will keep America competitive.
The health care bill will make America less competitive.

33 million more people will have health insurance.
33 million less people will have health insurance.

The health care bill will make health insurance more affordable for the middle class.
The health care bill will make health insurance less affordable for the middle class.
The health care bill will save taxpayers $1.3 trillion.
The health care bill will burden taxpayers with an extra $1.3 trillion.

The health care bill will eliminate fraud and waste.
The health care bill will increase fraud and waste.

The investment in education and health care will provide more opportunities.
The investment in education and health care will squelch opportunities.

Added note 5:55 p.m. CST:

All of the above statements were made (if not perfectly verbatim) by our Progressive Comrades as they made their glorious final statement in the People's Congressional House Chamber just before the health care bill was passed.

We're screwed. How can Republicans and the American people unring this bell? God have mercy.

User avatar
Comrade Pulloskies,

Snap out of that off prog mode, Fraulein. The health care bill is about to be superseded by States Rights become the law of the land and it will be wonderful.

Here in Texas, we don't give a darn what they do up in Washington.

If the Supreme Court upheld the California medical marijuana laws, then they will be hard put not to uphold any new laws a state might create, which, in effect will take the U.S. government right out of the driver's seat.

We can't. My hope is that we can mitigate it somehow and pull out the fangs. This is a F-ing disaster of epic preportions.

I've lost respect for so many of my fellow countrymen and for the Republican party that we've allowed it to come to this. Progs are what they are but they've been kept at bay for a hundred plus years though we've taken many baby steps in their direction. This is a giant leap to the left and in my opinion those responsible for a climate where this was even possible were in the Bush administration and the imasculated republican leadership for the last 15 years.

They say that politics swings like a pendulum from the left to the right and then back again. This is a seismic shift to the left of the point from which that pendulum swings.

My hope is that the bill is deemed unconstitutional and I don't have a feel for the chances of that happening.

and since it IS unconstitutional, that's sounds easy and right. But, I fear, with all the liberal judges in place, they'll disregard a constitution, not to their liking. Another fear is the weeny, wimpy Republicans like Lindsy Graham and McLame and a boat load of others, won't see that we're in a WAR the likes of themselves... liberals.

Then we'll all just have to go on strike.

I'd like to see:

ALL doctors resign; stop practicing.
ALL taxpayers stop sending in money. One way to kill the beast, is to starve it/strangle it.

Leninka, I'd love to see a nationwide strike. But let's not forget Eric Holder's words "Americans are, by and large, cowards" clearly this regime is counting heavily on that.

Of course, 1 in 10 American's are unemployed and when you count the number who gave up looking for work or have settled for part time work the number swells to 1 in 5. Going on strike for them would have little impact.

We could have a widespread taxpayer strike. But unless your name is Tim Geithner or Charlie Rangel the IRS would throw you in jail or at least assess penalties and interest on the money owed. That alone could be a windfall for the government.

We could boycott companies who have cooperated with the regime and the big furry thought criminal at the off site gulag (iOTW) is talking civil disobedience.

Personally, I'd just like to see us all grow a spine and do something besides talk since it's obvious our leaders have tuned us out.

The terrifying part of government run health care is not confined to their punishing me for my responsible saving and investment habits. It is the gateway to every other aspect of my life. Suddenly the federal government has a vested and very real interest in the way we live our lives in almost every respect. While I may have indirectly subsidized health care for others before it was by nameless and faceless dollars in a pool. I am now a cog in a machine.
These ridiculous political efforts to reduce or eliminate salt in restaurants; tax sodas, mandate health food be offered in vending machines, etc. are increasing in frequency in cities across the country. With “reform” passed it doesn't take a great leap in logic or the ability of a seer to predict the federal government taxing soft drinks and big macs, limiting your caloric intake and mandating exercise under the guise and rubric of saving the taxpayer's healthcare dollars.
1984 is upon us in the next 20 years.

GOSPEL Fraulein, GOSPEL!

From this point on, tax returns should be returned to the oppressors IRS with nothing more than a patriotic booger smeared in the signature block.

Yes, I said booger.

Comrade Buffoon,

Are you saying that we ought to show the I.R.S. our pleasure with the government. What dedication you have to our glorious system!

Just in case you missed it, I added a little note to my original post. Here it is for those of you who never make it back to the top of the page again:

Added note 5:55 p.m. CST:

In other words, all of the above predictions (in black) were made in the United States House of Congress by Comrade Nanski Peloski and others as the were making their final statements.

My simple mind did not at first grasp Peloskies your brilliance.

Reaction:

I silently ponder your silent pondering.

I was a little redundant there wasn't I, but it worked out so well, getting to see that cute little video.

No, I truly didn't get it. The serf I am....

I denounce Mr. C

23 gazillion Health Care credits if you can name the band members from memory.

Exit question: Does the fact that I can deem me progressive ,,, or simply a loser?

User avatar
Call me clueless.

'I can' applies only to those in the inner circle and that is only to fulfilling one's desires or whims. A progressive must entertain no thoughts of self determination or individual will. This is why you will gladly go out and purchase health insurance when you are told.

We either fight this monster until it dies, or 1984 is upon us indeed. The best thing that will happen is a Right-wing take over of Congress and the Presidency so as this can be repealed, that or the Healthcare bill is deemed unconstitutional. If neither of those outcomes happen, then either we go with the flow, or the country will go in flames, either because it becomes a dictatorship, or the guns blaze.

If it's a dictatorship, then George Orwell is laughing, if the guns start firing, then the US will be eventually redrawn as two separate countries, a statist, and a republic.

It is laughable to me to see John McCain taking the lead on the repeal movement. I agree that it will be nice to have anyone other than democrats in control but republicans over the past 15 years have proven to be socialist lite. I have no faith in them, they can't articulate a message and since the destruction of the last election cycle have yet to put forward coherent leadership or a list of policies to get things moving in the right direction. RINO's are full of shit.

My hope is that the tidal wave of litigation swamps this thing and that it is struck down.

Laughable in deed . . . this RINO is up for re-election and like many R's (LINDSEY GRAHAM, for one) he should be replaced with a real conservative, who is more interested in DEFEATING liberalism than "reaching across the isle" and kiss booty working with them

Thank goodness we do have some real conservatives who are fighting tooth and nail against this. We can't give up.

I DENOUNCE THE ENTIRE DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND ALL WHO CALL THEMSELVES A DEMOCRAT!

As you all know I'm not usually one to denounce, but what I've been seeing in the past few days is sickening to this old socialist. Where are the Parades with thousands of little Obama Children, clad in little blue t-shirts? Where are the banners? Where are the celebrations?

WE WON COMRADES!

We now yield not only political power, but we now have real power over the American People! For Obama's sake, when will everyone come out of the closet? The new World of the Progressives is here!

Let me get this started;

I'M A SOCIALIST/PROGRESSIVE
AND DAMN PROUD!

Spread the word Comrades. We won, we're RED and we're PROUD!

Image

Olga Katrina is on to something important here. This whole thing has just begun. The Socialist's have made their big move and exposed themselves for what they are. This is a good thing. They can no longer hide behind their bullshit. Fortunately for us, they don't really understand what they are up against. They don't understand that America is not the Government. It lies in the hearts and minds of millions of Americans. I almost feel sorry for them (no I don't). They have no idea of the storm headed their way.

I'm reminded of one of my favorite Russian Music Videos. It's about the "Rocky" theme. The underdog who though down, comes back to win the fight. Enjoy!

Attention all Comrades:

In the coming weeks you may hear people claim that forcing people to buy health insurance under the threat of penalties for fines is likened to extortion. You must make every attempt to laugh it off. And above all: Do everything you can to prevent the word extortion from being equated with the health care mandate. Never, never use it in daily conversation, and when you hear another say it, tell them they are ridiculous. We cannot allow the word extortion to be connected with the health care bill. It will destroy the image of the health care bill as something our comrades in congress did because they care, not because they are extortionists.
