How to Destroy an AR-15

The nomenclature of "AR-15," while generally considered reflective of all scary black high capacity assault rifles, previously marginalized its European counterparts. This oversight has been corrected on the interwebs here.

The author describes the approved method of destroying one's own AR-15 per ATF "machine gun" destruction policy, while not showing an AR at all.

It is believed that this serves to revisit the days of Gorbachev, where the destruction of a foreign weapon results in the destruction of an American one. That being said, if Senator Waters and Nancy Pelosi were to disarm France and Belgium, the weapons in California would disappear, resulting in an immediate reelection for each.

I disagree - probably. Just look at this quote from the ATF destruction procedure:

Except as provided in Title 26, United States Code (U.S.C.), Chapter 53, Section 5844, it is generally unlawful to import a machinegun into the United States for unrestricted sale. However, [highlight=#ffff00]machineguns that are properly destroyed may be imported.[/highlight] The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) routinely receives inquiries regarding the acceptable method of destroying machineguns.

Personally, I'm convinced that these monstrous mechanical machinegun mechanisms (MMMM's) have the ability (under certain conditions) to "self-repair" during evening hours and on weekends while we're assembled behind tractor barn #2 measuring monthly "fuel production" and devising new schemes 5 year plans for filling our quotas. <inhale>

Ask yourself this: "Why would Title 26, United States Code (U.S.C.), Chapter 53, Section 5844, paragraph 12a(5), **(ref., 201.87g) and all subsequent and otherwise non-regulated sub-sections not previously and explicitly referenced under Title 27, be,... never mind.
