I just saw that dufus John Stossel reiterating the words of the BenGleck, and he repeated this new piece of right wing propaganda over and over again - as if the whole world is made up of nothing but makers and takers. What a crock that is.

However, it got me wondering? Comrade Whoopie - ask yourself - are you a maker? or a taker?

Comrade Fraulein? Maker or taker?

Comrade Theocritus? Every time you draw us to the Rancho, are you making? or taking us away from the duties of the glorious revolution.

Comrades INGSOC, Proletarian Robot, Groucho Marxist, Potemkin Villager, Krasnodor, Shovel 4 U, Kook? What do you bring to the party?

Comrades Pupovich and 7.62? When you are away from the Cube, are you making or taking?

I'll admit, I do my share of taking. I take welfare payments, food stamps, subsidized housing, medicaid, free lottery tickets, but is that wrong? I am an official member of a minority, you know.

Now, I know there are others of you whom I have not mentioned. It does not mean I have forgotten you, only that I have exceeded my vodka ration - yes, I pilfered from Comrade Chedoh. After all, he didn't look like he needed an extra nip, and I did.

Well, again, some of us can say we fit into the "from each according to his hard work and ability" side of the equation, but the rest of us, well, they are calling us takers now.

The bottom line is, how on earth are we going to fight this frightfully clever right wing slogan?

I AM A MAKER!

For starters, I can make an issue out of anything. Once I've made the issue, I must raise awareness. And I do that by making jobs for people, who in turn make awareness ribbons and wristbands.

Then I make people wear them.

And I do none of this for profit. I do it because I care. For cry-sakes, caring isn't something I take--it's something I make. I make caring, just as I make compassion. Those aren't things that just spring naturally from somewhere. They must be created--made, if you will--and then I must create, or make awareness of them, otherwise what's the point? Why I should I care if no one is aware of what I care about, or how much I care?

Honestly, it's not rocket science.

I ask you, how can I possibly be a taker when I have the unique gift of seeing problems and crises where others--most notably right-wingers--say none exist? I see these things and I MAKE them into issues that MAKE possible the MAKING of more government programs.

I MAKE things happen!

As for you, Leninka, maybe you take welfare payments and other freebies from the government, but not me. I MAKE them give that stuff to me, because (a) I'm entitled, (b) I'm a victim of all the issues I've made, and (c) I care.

And if anyone doesn't feel my pain, be well assured I will MAKE you feel it!

Leninka, Pinkie has given me the gift of guilt as well. All I can say for myself is that I'm a taker when I can get it and a maker when I have no other choice.

Oh sure in my youth I made things, like moonshine and blackmarket deals. But now I'm old and scared so I try to take whatever they give me. Much less risky that way. Soon, I hope to cash in on the biggest entitlement of all...Socialist Security. What a deal that is. After paying into the system all my life if I'm lucky and live 20 more years I might even get a quarter of the money back. And even then, only if the gov. sees fit to give it to me.

My heart swells with pride thinking that I played my little part in making and supporting such a generous system.

I have given deep thought to your question, dear Leninka, and I have concluded that Taking IS Making. Where would we be without Takers? NO where, that is where. If we were not Taking, others would not have the opportunity, aka J O B S, to Make.... so therefore, Taking is Making. My Our Taking offers ample chances for others to be Making more for our Taking. Just is just logic.

And I do add to the Making processes. I have made beet vodka for other to Take and by making sure others pay me, I am helping the ObamaNation to grow, does it not?! We are all Makers and Takers and that is the way any good, socialist society progresses.

Do we get rewarded for good answers?? I have been eyeing a new vehicle.

Leaving aside the subject of fermented hop Kool-Aid and back to the subject at hand, when you think about it the entire Keynesian economic theory is based on the idea that the Takers through consumer spending drive the economy. Instead of capitalists saving and investing in people like Edison or companies like Standard Oil all the government has to do is put dollars in the hands of Takers and that money in the economy will spur prosperity. It's analogous to a farmer thinking that he can encourage agriculture by giving all of his seed stock for next seasons planting to the nation to eat on the spurious notion that this will somehow create crops.

They cut school lunch programs, thereby taking food from the mouths of The Children!

They cut Social Security and Medicare, thereby taking Social Security and Medicare away from Senior Americans!

They take amnesty away from Undocumented Americans!

They said no to the stimulus, thereby taking shovel-ready jobs away from millions of Americans! (And that's what Obama meant when he said there were no shovel-ready jobs--who the hell's fault did anyone think it was--his?)

They said no to health care reform, thereby taking the public option away from us!

They say no to climate change, thereby taking an inhabitable planet away from us and future generations!

They take money away from the poor and give it to their fat cat corporate friends, and they call that "tax cuts"!

And if that's not enough, they're on the verge of TAKING the House and possibly the Senate!

What's more, they even admit it! They keep yammering about "taking our country back." That's right--they even think this is THEIR country--all for the "taking."

I denounce everyone of you. After a weekend away on a special espionage mission (how many people have the ability to impersonate a black hotel maid and search through the belongings of a Rethuglican high party official?), I come back, and your posts made me laugh so hard, I knocked my back out of joint, and now, can barely post this response, I am in so much pain.

I see Comrade Pinkie made good use of her thinking cap, in coming up with a come-back to this annoying maker-taker slogan, and Comrade Groucho's care-o-meter, placing Pinkie right behind Dear Leader had me in stitches. I see also that Groucho placed the BushHitler behind bars, and at the bottom of the meter.

No one cares more than progressives, no one, and even if they make gains in the coming election, they can't take our care-ranking away.

Now, I'm off on another mission on behalf of a high party official on our side, and it also involves maid work.

Rarely am I this late to a party but perhaps it is better because I avoid denouncement of Leninka.
