Breitbart.com: On Monday, four members of an anti-fracking group wound up in jail for using bicycle locks and glue to fasten themselves to gas pumps at a petrol station in Great Lever, England. The group sacrificed themselves in order to protest the hydraulic fracking activities of Total, a French petroleum company.

But, to their embarrassment, the group sacrificed themselves to the wrong petrol station, which was no longer owned by Total. The petrol station was owned by Certas Energy, who neglected to take down the signs after buying the station.

This story brings to mind the tragic, and strangely similar tale of a young woman known as Moonshadow Rainbow, longtime motorcycle gang member and Earth First spokesperson.

As gang members recall the fateful evening, Moonshadow had suddenly thrown her bong aside, jumped up from the basement floor, and walked off into the desert carrying only a small green backpack. She left the stunned gang members no clue for her sudden departure other than a few mumbled curses and the phrase, “Big oil sucks!”

Moonshadow disappeared into the desert never to be seen again. Weeks passed without word from their friend, prompting gang members to begin an unsuccessfully 3 year motorcycle search of the huge desert area. But alas, no clue of Moonshadow's whereabouts was ever uncovered.

Then in late June, a local police detective called with the tragic news - little Moonshadow's decaying remains had been found glued to a pump in front of an abandoned gas station near the old route 3 turnoff.

According to the police report, Ms. Moonshadow Rainbow had been picked up by a trucker who later dropped her off near the deserted gas station. “I remembered dropping a girl off in that area after reading a news report of a skeleton found out there,” the distraught trucker told police. “She insisted I stop and leave her there. She said she had a ride coming later to get her.”

Police speculated that under the influence of unknown drugs, Moonshadow had stumbled to the abandoned gas station and assumed it was closed for the night. She then glued her left wrist to the old gas pump and fell into unconsciousness. Fierce desert heat and hungry animals took their toll over the next few days. Only a half empty cup of Yoplait yogurt and a discharged electric toothbrush were found next to the skeleton. The green backpack was never recovered.

In the words of Comrade John Kerry, "How do you ask a man to be the last comrade to die for a mistake?"
