A new website dedicated to revolution has sprung into being https://92percentgroup.org is advocating my idea of the week before. A mortgage payer's revolt in which we can all become victims and deadbeats by withholding our mortgage payments in April. Force the government to bail us all out in the spirit of redistribution. Punish the bankers. Kill the landlord. Visit their website and leave a glorious comment. Here's more:

Mortgage Strike
Send a strong message to President Obama and Congress, we propose a nationwide mortgage strike in April 2009. By withholding their April mortgage payments, homeowners across the country will demonstrate the absurdity of rewarding those who do not meet their financial obligations.

We are soliciting the opinions of those interested in this action. Please post your comments on the blog page.

“Under a government which imprisons unjustly, the true place for a just man is also a prison.… where the State places those who are not with her, but against her, –the only house in a slave State in which a free man can abide with honor.… Cast your whole vote, not a strip of paper merely, but your whole influence. A minority is powerless while it conforms to the majority; it is not even a minority then; but it is irresistible when it clogs by its whole weight. If the alternative is to keep all just men in prison, or give up war and slavery, the State will not hesitate which to choose. If a thousand men were not to pay their tax bills this year, that would not be a violent and bloody measure, as it would be to pay them, and enable the State to commit violence and shed innocent blood. This is, in fact, the definition of a peaceable revolution, if any such is possible.”

-Henry David Thoreau, Civil Disobedience

Thoreau protested slavery and taxes the same way we propose to protest paying for our neighbor's mortgages. Withholding payment will send a message that we, the silent majority, will not take injustice sitting down. Too long have we let policies like Obama's Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan take advantage of us. We let the government take our money and give it to someone else because we are afraid of being cast as the Mr. Scrooges and Potters of today. We are not bad people for wanting the money we earn. We are not bad people for staying current on our mortgages. We are not bad people for holding jobs, staying out of debt, and saving towards our children's future. President Obama we're not bad people so why punish us?

Rejoicing is too much work for me. Instead, let's declare this a national holiday and force everyone out there to rejoice for us by marching, chanting, and showing their support for socialism. It's for their own good.

Rejoicing is indeed, too much work.

It would be better for all citizens to take the day off when everyone's mortgage is due and NOT write that check or authorize the online transaction. Let His Excellency and His sidekick, Joe Biden deal with everyone's payments. Chris Dodd and Bwaney Fwank can hold hearings to force the banks to reduce everyone's mortgage payments.

Like a bowel movement or an economy, they are the one's who know how to "stimulate" for maximum results.
