Washington, DC -- President Joe Biden was looking for a congresswoman yesterday at a White House event, captured on video calling her name and searching for her, saying "Jackie are you here? Where’s Jackie?."  The newsworthy part of the story is that she died tragically a month ago and President Biden sent condolences to the family at that time.

A few mean-spirited commentators pounced on the story to imply that the President is suffering from mental decline.  White House spokesbeing Karine Jean-Pierre easily explained the discrepancy: he wanted to ask her about her voting preferences.

In answering repeated and persistent questions about the occurrence, she stated "He was just going to ask Jackie to confirm that she intended to vote 'D' in November.  He knows she's gone from this world - we all do.  She was taken from us too soon, but that doesn't mean she won't continue to vote.  He was trying to reach across the aisle and make sure of her voting preferences, that's all.  There is nothing wrong with the President.  He isn't even 80 yet and - you've seen him - consumes ice cream like a much younger man."

Stand up, Jackie!
