Does this mean use of penicillin is over?

Komrade J,
You have no idea how many childhood memories you brought back to life as one that grew up in the 'penicillin' era of the 50s, 60s and beyond until another other 'cillin' was invented.
When I was a kid, if you got sick enough to go to the DOCTOR, you WOULD get a BIG needle of penicillin right SMACKDAB in the most painful area of your buttocks. It was the 'cure all' to 'end all' but I doubt seriously that our local doctor got any 'kickbacks' from anywhere for administering it.
Back then our local town doctors were basically what you see in the movie Doc Hollywood of Dr Aurelius Hogue ......they knew what everyone was going through because they were really a part of the community.......and no stranger to the bottle.
I thank my childhood town doctor for giving me a healthy fear of needles.
