April Is National _______ Month

User avatar
National (fill in the blank) Months are tedious. Whether they're established by Presidential proclamation or act of Congress, by corporations or institutions, special interest groups or individuals, they are feeble pantomimes of actual holidays that serve the interests of few (and often vanishingly few) people. They also lessen the value of whatever their cause celebré by boxing  them into a single month to be largely forgotten the rest of the year.

And many of them—annoyingly—are unworthy of celebrating at all, as this list of April's National (fill in the blank) Month menu items reveals.

African American Women's Fitness Month
Alcohol Awareness Month
Black Women's History Month
Celebrate Diversity Month
Confederate History Month
Distracted Driving Awareness Month
Financial Literacy Month
Foot Health Awareness Month
Fresh Florida Tomato Month
Irritable Bowel Syndrome Awareness Month
Keep America Beautiful Month
Lawn and Garden Month
Mathematics Awareness Month
Month of the Military Child
National Arab American Heritage Month
National Autism Awareness Month
National Canine Fitness Month
National Cancer Control Month
National Cannabis Awareness Month
National Car Care Month
National Child Abuse Awareness Month
National Couple Appreciation Month
National Deaf History Month (March 13 to April 15)
National Decorating Month
National Donate Life Awareness Month
National Fair Housing Month
National Fresh Celery Month
National Garden Month
National Humor Month
National Internship Awareness Month
National Jazz Appreciation Month
National Minority Health Month
National Month of Hope
National Multiple Birth Awareness Month

Pets are Wonderful Month
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month
Records and Information Management Month
School Library Month
Scottish American Heritage Month
Second Chance Month
Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Sexually Transmitted Infections Awareness Month

World Landscape Architecture Month

As you can see, only two topics (highlighted in red) are worth observing, but tacitly (and all year). If only a strong movement were to arise to eradicate National (fill in the blank) Months. It can be done, and the best way to start may be to declare every month National End National (fill in the blank) Months.

The Month of Wowyns Sistery Celebrations was certainly tedious (thanks again to all you viewers out in The Collective), and annoyingly unworthy of celebrating at all.

But, Red Square posted Marion Wright Edelman and The Children's Defense Fund's final work inserting the State into the parent/child relationship of necessary trust. Comrades, be pleased to know that you are prepared for because Marion Wright Edelman was Womyn's Sistory Month Day 31! The Great-Grandmother, who mentored other people's children into thinking social justified acts of violence to get your way, way.

Thanks Red Square for directing 'pelipsky's attention to view Alex Steyn's re-educational expose.

Just think, that's living proof of the success of Marion Wright Edelman's social justice education ways, comrades. Day 31 of Womyn's Sistory Month Big Poobamatist. 'pelipsky gives her credit: due today.

Whilst I'm fully aware of alcohol (we do have the, apparently, infinite supply of beat vodka) and do appreciate Party™ approved humor, I think the month really should be a time for celebrating what is celebrated on the first day of the month. It should be National Fools Awareness Month and the climax of the monthly celebration should be April 15, National Donate to Fools Day.

It's a time that we can come together as a nation and celebrate how foolish we, truly, all are. National Donate to Fools Day should be a national holiday when we celebrate our service to national foolishness and somberly lament our inability to Be Better™.

Comrades!

When is 'Secret Police Appreciation' month? I'm feeling left out...

As always, saving the planet one counter-revolutionary carbon life form at a time,

Great Tweets in support of Alex Stein, Red Square.

‘pelipsky thinks this meme shreds.

Not sure what you mean by "we," but sure; it can be expanded outside Australia.

I'm not in Australia. I'm in Oregon. I immigrated from Australia 23 years ago.

So you're a refugee. Like our Southern border crossing refugees?

Nyet, comrade. I foolishly did it the legal way and paid all the fees to the benevolent Party™ apparatchiks instead of to the mean cartels. I'm told it's less expensive but it takes a lot longer. You get what you pay for. The difference between overnight service and snail mail, I suppose.

I've never seen one of those, Comrade Director, but then birdlife is scarce in the Red Centre. Landing like that has to hurt.

I'm disappointed. There's no mention of the basement of Tractor Barn #2 in that song.

Not wanting to be contentious, Comrade Clara, but my observations have noticed that what happens in Tractor Barn #2 often makes it out into the beet fields. Those crop circles have nothing to do with aliens, at least, not the extra-terrestrial ones. That explanation is simply The Party™ trying to assure everybody that there's Nothing To See Here™. Naturally, I don't see it either so forget I even mentioned it.
