As an example, I used Washington's own quote:

Full quote: "Experience teaches us that it is much easier to prevent an enemy from posting themselves than it is to dislodge them after they have got possession."

The perfect quote escapes me at the moment, but it may include something about him using the well-sharpened ax he used to cut down the cherry tree on that rope...

"...the dignity of the Office of the President shall not be compromised..."

WTF?

An actual quote from George Washington: "The time is now near at hand which must probably determine whether Americans are to be freemen or slaves".

I'd say that's about where we are.
