A fountain of pleasure, found in Amsterdam, called by the locals, "Funtain", and coming here soon! Ha! Pretty funny stuff, heh, comrades! I am bringing it to America, exclusively, on The Cube! ... Obama: “I Do Think At A Certain Point You've Made Enough Money”.


I did a little Gimp work, only on the sign below the fountain, (all I know how to do right now), but am submitting this because I know, comrades, if you choose to have your way with it, you will! If you find this boring from Pamalinsky...well, it won't be the first time! Either way, Go Cube!
I was wondering...does the sign, obscured by the bronze "dick", say "Live No Show? or "Live Porno Show?" Maybe they're both the same. It's always hard to know when a dick is in the way, especially a bronze one.

(The elephant was always kept in the middle in my "redesign", for stability. But, you can change it to anything you want!) Oh yeah...and, good luck with that!

I sincerely do not like to tell others how to post, and I have even made long public rants against the practice in the belief that it stifles creativity as well as lively discussion.

However, I believe that when you have what's known as a "Work" you wish to share with the world in some way, that before you even think of putting it out there, you should not only complete it, but make it the absolute very best it can be.

Posting a rough draft or "Work in Progress" in bits and pieces, with commentary on self-editing, will only confuse and eventually alienate those you seek to inform, entertain, or otherwise impress.

Dear Leader himself stated at his health care summit that the masses are not interested in the process or procedure, only that it gets done.

That being said, on the bright side, you may have a promising future on Capitol Hill, where you can be tasked with sloppily slapping together massive pieces of legislation, like the stimulus or Obamacare bill, that must be rammed through Congress right freaking now because millions are suffering and/or dying. Indeed, doing it will make you part of history!

For that matter, the prospect of becoming part of history may exist for you here at the Cube, but that's not for me to decide. Just know that barring a giant meteor hitting the earth or our People's Director getting hit by a bus, the Cube will still be here tomorrow.

How this pic fits with the title of the thread is a mystery. How is Obama involved?

I'm not a prude but some folks might say it was gratuitous and a bit off topic. Especially to start a new thread with. There are websites where you can post pics you personally find funny or bizarre.

Wow. Looks like I got some 'splainin' to do.

When I saw this outrageous picture of an actual fountain, it seemed a perfect symbol of what I think Congress (with O at the "head") is doing to our country in general and to Arizona just recently (diminishing both). Not just with rhetoric but deeds! Forcing it on us when we don't want it. All the while insisting it's for our own good, and "Paradise" is "just around the corner." Some "Paradise!" (We all know what paradise he has in mind.) Talk about gratuitous! That it's in front of a whorehouse only added to the symbolism. I meant it to look gratuitous for that reason. Guess it didn't come off that way. Looking at it now, it just looks stupid. Period. And heavy handed. (no pun intended)

I have to admit. It is a bit obtuse (an understatement) And all that babble about Gimp, just goofy and unfocused. (Again, much like the babble we hear from politicians every day) Missed the mark entirely. Yours is much better, actually. I really must compose my posts somewhere else and look at them for a day or so. I always want to change them after I've posted them anyway. Can't be doing that. Not only for my own self-respect, but out of respect for The Cube, as well. It is inappropriate, I suppose, especially for a new post, but was not intended to be pornographic or gratuitous in any way.

Then, why the hell did you post it, you might ask? Because I didn't think it through, is my answer.

Even Pinkie admonished me, but managed to post something that made a silk purse out of a sow's ear. At least that was my take on it. I agree with her. Been thinking about it all day.

I appreciate your commentary on this, Whoopie. You were quite kind. And I appreciate Pinkie's as well. It's not the first time this has happened, and I better do something about it or I'm out. Don't want that to happen. And, I'm getting sick of apologizing when I should be contributing stuff that doesn't require one. I'm sure everyone else is, too. It's downright embarrassing.

In fact, I would love to just eliminate this whole thread, but that would be unfair to the others who posted after me. It's too late. This hurts. I learned something here, though. My post appears lazy and careless, which is a reflection on the Cube! That kills me. I love the Cube. I have to get this right.

I don't know if this is possible, but I would be more than glad to give each poster here one of my accumulated post numbers, if they all agree, of course, to take this thread down. Or, I could just go in and edit it. I'm a little gun shy right now, though. And, so after-the-fact. And so sorry.

Don't be too hard on yourself Pamalinski. Overreaching can be a problem in satire; one I still struggle to control. As you have correctly pointed out, it is good sometimes to look at a potential comment or article for a day or so, before rushing to post it.

If I were the kind of person prone to make suggestions, I'd say a safer bet for the pic would be to do something funny with it (like what Whoopie did), or maybe blur it just enough to make it PG-13-ish. I'm also prone to blurting out exactly what I'm thinking, without thinking how it might offend others- chalk it up to a healthy love of free speech. All is forgiven- thats how we learn. By messing up!

I want to thank you for this thoughtful reply CtoG. It brought me tears of relief. Really. I've always had a rough time separating my commentary from my kommentary. That bothered me, but I never realized that "overreach" is something that satirists deal with all the time, although, you would never know it when reading Red Square's stuff, or other posters on this site, including you. They do it with grace and aplomb. This is very helpful information. I thought it was just me. I do let my eagerness to play get in my way. Enthusiasm is a wonderful thing, when bridled by focus and insight. Unbridled enthusiasm, unfocused, can be downright dangerous.

Because of your comment, I realized that "overreach", at least in my case, makes me look exactly like the "thing" I am trying to satirize! Another form of projection! Gawd, posted "selections" do have their consequences, don't they? Arrgh!

I, as you can see, am quite impatient when it comes to posting my posts, which I intend to remedy by doing the right thing and WAITING and ACTUALLY OBSERVING, after some thought, WHAT THE HELL I'M POSTING. Thanks for your understanding. I'm right there with you on free speech. I wanted to do exactly what Whoopie did, Whoopie got it! I just don't have the Gimp "chops", yet. Which I admitted, while inviting any prog on the Cube to have their way with the image I found. That was my way of engaging everyone in the fun! That's all I'm workin' with right now. (Still, Whoopie censured me, in the kindest way, while actually responding with a magnificent image, as did Pinkie, who provided no image, but an excellent commentary.) I got critiques, censures, and comrades telling me I should do this or shouldn't do that. Czar Czar did. At least she described it. But did not show it! No problem with me, dear CC, but I'm being called to task on this by the "others", namely, Pinky and Whoopie. I MUST be doing something right! I was really intimidated for awhile. And, in tears.
