It's nine o'clock on election day
The liberal votes shuffle in
There's an old man standing next to me
Making love to his Hillary pin
He says, "Sir can you pass a law for me
I don't really care how it goes
If it's bad or it's sweet
I could care in the least
As long as socialism grows
Pass us a law you're the liberal-man
Pass us a law tonight
Well we're all in the mood for socialism
Were ready to give you our life
Now John in the line is a college kid
He wants his tuition for free
Now he can't take a joke but wants weed he can smoke
And a safe space where free speech can't be
He says, "Sir, conservatives are killing me"
As anger soon appeared on his face
"Well, I'm sure that I could learn much more here
If we shout them out of this place
Now Paul is a romantic novelist
Who has a grown man for a wife
And he's talking with Davy, who's gay in the Navy
And probably will be for life
And the waitress is practicing politics
While the businessmen prepare to get stoned
Yes the crimes they are charged are erroneous
But for them there must be atone
Pass us a law you're the liberal-man
Pass us a law tonight
Well we're all in the mood for socialism
Were ready to give you our life
It's a pretty good crowd for election day
As the poll chief gives me a smile
'Cause he knows how to cheat and count votes they can't see
To rule their life for a while
And the vote returns sound like a carnival
As the liberals begin to cheer
And they honk in their cars and play their guitars
And sing "Man it is great you are here!"
Pass us a law you're the liberal-man
Pass us a law tonight
Well we're all in the mood for socialism
Were ready to give you our life
