The People's Cube - Political Satire

Nothing topical here, Comrades. Just thinking about my dearly departed mother and her correct counsel for surviving Room 101 brought this fun little ditty to mind -- one that we can sing along to in the fields to keep us from collapsing from heat exhaustion during the glorious August beet harvest

We-e-e-e-e-e-E-E-E-e-e-e-e-e will stamp your face today
We-e-e-e-e-e-E-E-E-e-e-e-e-e will stamp your face today

We-stampaway, we-stampaway, we-stampaway, we-stampaway
We-stampaway, we-stampaway, we-stampaway, we-stampaway
We-stampaway, we-stampaway, we-stampaway, we-stampaway
We-stampaway, we-stampaway, we-stampaway, we-stampaway

With the truncheon, the might truncheon
O'Brian speaks tonight
With the truncheon, the Riot Truncheon
O'Brien speaks tonight

Orwellaway, orwellaway, orwellaway, orwellaway
Orwellaway, orwellaway, orwellaway, orwellaway
Orwellaway, orwellaway, orwellaway, orwellaway
Orwellaway, orwellaway, orwellaway, orwellaway

With the voltage, the shriekful voltage
O'Brien speaks tonight
With the voltage, the frightful voltage
O'Brien speaks tonight

Room101, room101, room101, room1o1
Room101, room101, room101, room101
Room101, room101, room101, room101
Room101, room101, room101, room101

Talk my Winston, have fear my Winston
The brown rat squeeks tonight
Rush my Winston, betray my Winston
The brown rat leaps tonight

Woe oh woe, woe oh woh, woe unto Julia today
(Orwellianway, orwellianway, orwellianway, orwellianway)
(Orwellianway,, orwellianway, orwellianway, orwellianway)
Cause we-e-e-e-e-E-E-E-E-e-e-e-e betrayed her love today
Br-r-r-r-r-i-i-ng the fear and stamped my face today
(Orwellianway, orwellianway, orwellianway, orwellianway)
(Orwellianway, orwellianway, orwellianway, orwellianway)

We-e-e-e-e-e-E-E-E-E-e-e-e-e did stamp his face today
We-e-e-e-e-e-E-E-E-E-e-e-e-e did stamp his face today

A poem for you, Comrade, (which I did not write but someone somewhere did)...

"beets and brussel sprouts
were really on the outs
sprouts got spoiled
beets got boiled
—aromatically challenged louts"

:D

I remember being outside playing tag or some such thing and hearing this song "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" through the open window. Enjoying the childhood memory. :)
