In their ongoing effort to protect the defenseless, poverty stricken peasants and workers of Louisiana, State officials have destroyed 1600 pounds of free deer meat provided to a local homeless shelter by thoughtless hunters.
Regulars at the upscale shelter complained of "insufficient side dishes" and "under-cooked portions" when asked to comment on the decision to destroy the meat. One elderly man noted that his regular dumpster diving shopping day had been disrupted by all the hub bub surrounding the shelter's publicity. "How's a fellow supposed to eat that slop!" he complained.
Deer located near the shelter mocked the throng of reporters while grazing in a nearby field.
Fox News wrote:“Deer meat is not permitted to be served in a shelter, restaurant or any other public eating establishment in Louisiana,” an official told Fox News in an email. “While we applaud the good intentions of the hunters who donated this meat, we must protect the people who eat at the Rescue Mission, and we cannot allow a potentially serious health threat to endanger the public.”
