Conversations between my shoulder angel and my shoulder devil often turn into heated arguments, at which point I have to interfere and break up the fight. The angel represents conscience; it usually sits or hovers near the right shoulder. The devil represents temptation and sits on the left because (I looked it up in Wikipedia) the left side traditionally represents dishonesty or impurity. Obviously, moral dilemmas haunt political systems as much as they do individual citizens.
As if that weren't enough, my shoulder angel and devil have recently begun to speak with the voices of American presidents...
