Comrades, I propose that we create a new holiday.

Inspired by: International Talk Like A Pirate Day
(They could be considered the world's first Proggies – terrorizing and killing people to steal their property redistributing it to themselves, leaving death and destruction in their wake, just like today's Proggies).

The new holiday would be: INTERNATIONAL TALK LIKE A PROG DAY

1. What should we officially call it this new holiday?

"Commie" was the first word that came to mind, but I'm throwing it out to the collective for your ideas.

Other possible names:

International Talk like a commie-pinko day
International Talk like a socialist day
International Talk like a Proggie day
And so on…

What sounds like the best choice?

2. What should be the date of this new holiday?
What would be the most appropriate?
The first to come to mind was May 1st – Mayday … perhaps continuing with the commie-pirate theme.
But I'm open to ideas from everyone on this – it should be a day of significance and one connected to progressive ‘Thought'
Other possibilities:
March 28 the day of the silly “Earth hour”(Yes, I denounce myself) observance [It's hard to observe something with the lights out].
April 22 “Earth Day”

It should be a nice sunny day when drinking copious amounts of vodka is appropriate. It's also Lenin's birthday.

I know the Garlic Festival is a great example for communism, maybe we should celebrate Beet Day? Burning Man is already taken.

Multinational, multicultural, all inclusive, non-offensive, pro-choice, unionized, LGBT-Q and Mooslimical (but not Zionist) friendly, vegan, green, climate change acknowledgement, talk like Dear Leader (PBUH) day?

Hmmmm.. maybe something missing there

We can have Talk like Barney Frank day - that should be fun.

But closer to the original idea is TALK LIKE A PROG day. If it rhymes it must be right korrekt.

("Talk like a Prog" is what we do on the Cube all year round, so it should be a smooth transition).

As for the calendar date, I propose April 1st, which also happens to be the People's Cube birthday.

Is participation mandatory as usual? I haven't been keeping up with some of the gender variations.
