These days competition is fierce in nearly all endeavors - athletes have long abused steroids to gain a performance edge over their competitors and now people who engage in intellectual endeavors are using performance enhancing substances to excel in their respective fields.

In Silicon Valley, many entrepreneurs and knowledge workers have been microdosing on small amounts of LSD - not enough for a psychedelic experience, yet enough to sharpen their minds and give them focus. Proponents claim it works and that these effects are beneficial - hallucinations only occur upon overdosing.

On the East Coast many creative types have been microdosing on psilocybin mushrooms - taking sub-hallucinogenic dosages to increase reaction time, see colors more vividly and enhance ambition.

While in Washington DC leading Democrats have taken to Tide Pods - this practice, they feel, gives them an edge in crafting liberal arguments that outdo other liberals.

Chuck Schumer, when he first saw a Tide Pod on a coworker's desk commented, "It looked delicious and I wanted to eat it." The rest is history.
