Comrades, as we all know, the issue is never the issue, the Revolution is the issue. Whatever needs to be said, whatever beliefs voiced or concessions feigned is acceptable so long as it moves the agenda of Collective World Progressive Socialism forward towards the bright future of Next Tuesday.

Still, there are times when a true, old line Party member such as me reads some of the gushing, quasi-spiritual hyperbole coming from Obamunist and asks if I didn't just make a wrong left turn at the Crazy Town exit. Yes, traditional monotheist are goofy enough with their insistent beliefs on some big invisible creator in the sky but... well look, just read this and see what I mean about Crazy Town:
Is Obama an enlightened being?

Well folks, this is a true "jump the shark" moment. I'm basically at a loss for words here. If some conservative had written a column arguing that a Republican candidate was anointed by God, people like Mark Morford and his merry band of "spiritually advanced" fellow travelers would be wetting themselves with rage at the thought. Why is it that I miss the spiritual aura that all of these "smart, wise, spiritually attuned" others see in Obama? Oh right, it must be my "broken karmic antenna"!

Well of course he is. Did he not reveal himself to the masses in his speech this week acknowledging the homage and fealty of the Empress to his August Self? Did he not promise to end hunger, heal the sick establish justice, create peace, and turn back the very tide?

...we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs for the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth.

Yes,an Obama presidency will be the big moment when it all began.
Just not looking forward to what will have begun. In fact, after reading things like the article by Mark Morford...I am very disconcerted,to put it mildly. I try to live my life without leaning toward the dramatic. I can't stand the hyperbole thrown out constantly by liberals...that said, I am going to emulate these freaks for a moment and say(write)....these people scare the sh*t outta me!!

Doesn't everyone know that hollow promises make enlightened beings? The people who lie to us and make us feel good are the most enlightened of all because they can make you believe them without any real facts!

Just like 'ol what's his face... Lucifer I think it was....

I'd like to know where I can get my karma attuned to receive this enlightened spiritual perception. What is the nature of this metaphysical otherworld from which Obama has been sent or anointed? I'm guessing it isn't anything based on Judeo-Christian concepts of God, Satan, Heaven, Hell, etc.

What do I need to do to perceive this enlightened spiritual state that people like Mark see with so little effort? Could the DNC possibly open spiritual enlightenment centers where dolts like me can go to meditate under pyramids and get our auras adjusted by healers wielding blessed power crystals?

In my opinion, what this argument boils down to is that this writer and a number of his friends can not make any rational arguments for their candidate. They acknowledge that giddy emotionalism looks pretty vapid (but display it anyway) and they aren't traditionally religious so they can't claim any divine guidance. The best argument we can get is that we aren't tuned in to the proper karmic channels or spiritually advanced enough to see what is so obvious to people who share these political and quasi-pseudo-metaphysical beliefs. It boils down to this: Political leftist who are smarter and more spiritually attuned than you can see things you can't and trust me when I tell you that they confirm everything that I believe. You don't see what I see and I can't provide you with any evidence because well, you don't see what I see!

When people get this unhinged, when they start looking to a mortal human being as some sort of saviour or "other", I start getting nervous.

Take it from me, folks: being a bhodesatva ain't all it's cracked up to be. My advice is keep your chakras aligned, oil your karma regularly (but not too much oil, as it tends to collect dust), and get your ego checked for overinflation by a qualified Rhinpo before each new incarnation.

Morford probably wishes he was a woman just so he could have Obama's baby.

Sometimes I think it's not Obama who scares me as much as the lovesick media and all these people swooning over him and idolizing him. I've never seen anything like it. I thought it was crazy enough when just a year ago people were calling Gore a prophet and messiah who was going to save the planet. That's nothing compared to this.

Funny how it's always the Left who keeps choosing these people, slobbering over them, trying to turn them into gods, while lashing out at anyone who doesn't throw themselves at Obama's feet. Worship or be condemned to the fiery furnace.

It is scary, Pinkie -- really, really scary. What is even scarier is the alliance that is being formed between angry Clinton supporters and Republicans who both wish to see Obama go down in flames. Obama is uniting the country.

Speaking of this unholy alliance: John McCain's blog is booming with pissed Clinton supporters, some of which who seem like very reasonable people. I'm willing to reach out to these people and embrace them -- temporarily -- just so we can defeat the Cult of Barry and save our country from his ilk.

Having slain God, they seek to create a new one in their own image, a god that will smite the unrighteous, bring justice, and provide bounty, but one who demands nothing in return (he'll take it all from the unrighteous).

A couple of sidebars here. I notice that this story was getting posted all over the right-leaning blogs yesterday and today. Must've been those e-mails we all got from Rove at around the same time, huh?

After reading several other commentaries on this article, I was put in mind of a couple of great essays by Bill Whittle. One is actually a two-part with a third supposedly on the way while the other ties in to a similar theme:
Seeing The Unseen, Part 1
Seeing The Unseen, Part 2<br>Magic

A favorite "money quote" from ...Unseen, Part 2:
"What I am trying to do here is to build a chain of evidence to show a progressively deteriorating epidemic of world-wide insanity, of truly diseased thinking -- not just a misunderstanding or difference of opinion but real, diagnosable mental illness."

I think this is a good description Mark Morford and many of his like-minded fellows. It's one thing to say you support Obama because of his charisma or his positions on the issues (assuming you could show evidence of either) but to argue that he is best qualified to be President because of his impossible to quantify higher state of being is to bring your own sanity and judgement into question.

I should mention for those of you unfamiliar with Bill's work, that these are true essays rather than just pithy blog posts. Meaning that they are fairly long and detailed. Probably best to tackle them when you have a long period of uninterrupted time to spend in front of the computer.

At the risk of being serious, I second Commissar M's recommendation of Bill Whittle. While Whittle's essays are long, they are so well written that you don't even mind spending that extra time reading them. He's like - ya know - a real writer.

So if God didn't exist, we'd have to invent Him. The Left have already gotten rid of God via harping on separation of church and state, which is clearly spelled out in the U.S. Constitution on the same page as my right to an abortion anytime, for any reason, and at government expense.

Now, being without a god, they realize they have to invent a one, or at least appoint one who fits their Progressive ideal. Hence Obama.

The Left also seems to have a pressing need for a "royal family" so they've chosen the Kennedys, who fit their ideal mold much better than oh, say, the Romanovs did--and we all know what happened to them, children too.

Nothing happened to the Romanovs, Commissar Pinkie. THERE WERE NO ROMANOVS! There is but one oppressive family and they are called Bush. And this family -- which goes by Bush -- has oppressed the world's people for millennia!

Mark Morford wrote: Here's where it gets gooey. Many spirituallyadvanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policiesor health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.

Haven't we heard this nonsense over and over and over and over and over and over (that just rolls across the keyboard). I remember being a teenager when these deeply spiritual (barf) people all got together in Northern California with triangles on their head trying to harmonize themselves, and the rest of us, into some new evolutionary step foward. I feel a Howard Dean moment coming on. Arrrrghhhhhh!!

I have more to add to the Obama as a Lightworker narrative.

Jessie Jackson Jr, D-Chicago wrote: What Barack Obama has accomplished is the single most extraordinary event that has occurred in the 232 years of the nation's political history. The event itself is so extraordinary that another chapter could be added to the Bible to chronicle its significance.
