The online porn industry may have suffered a bone-crushing legal setback on Friday when the Pennsylvania Supreme Court made a landmark 4-3 ruling that individuals who are suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome may sue the adult media giants after they, the victims, have excessively used their streaming services.
The case was thrusted forward by Jeremy Hatfield, 38, of Indiana, PA, after he was diagnosed with what his attorney characterized as Adult Carpal Tunnel Syndrome directly attributed to his immoderate use of adult websites. The chief complaint made by advocates for porn control is that the greedy porn industry recklessly advertises their product with no regard to encouraging moderation. As a result, their corporate greed has already caused countless injuries to people who unwittingly got hooked on their product.
Hatfield made a tearful plea to the court accompanied by a dozen other wrist-cast wearers. He described how his quality of life has deflated after he began experiencing a throbbing pain just under his hand. Hatfield stated that the injury has made him unable to obtain a job and as a result has forced him to use welfare services.
The decision made by the PA supreme Court is expected to have far-reaching consequences for the online adult streaming services, and be a boon for a network of support groups for the sufferers, who could use a shot in the arm in the form of state, federal, and corporate subsidies to expand their operations.
