Her Royal Highness, Gretchen of Whitmer (Gov. Michigan) appeared on The View, where she was praised by the far-left hosts.
The View's co-host Whoopi Goldberg asked Whitmer about the protesters, specifically focusing on the “armed protesters.”
After saying she would only rely on facts, Governor Whitmer, without any proof, said, “These protests, they do undermine the effort, ” adding, “It's very clearly a political statement that's playing out.” Whitmer claimed that people are “congregating,” and “not wearing masks,” adding, “They are not staying 6 feet apart, and then they go back into communities, and the risk of perpetuating COVID19 is real.” Whitmer has no evidence of her claim that the protesters are going anywhere but back to their private homes and remaining in isolation.
Whitmer grotesquely painted the protesters desperate to go back to work, as “racists,” after one Confederate/pro-2nd Amendment was spotted, and Nazis, a reference to signs held by protesters that compared Whitmer to Adolf Hitler, while showing a video clip of Black conservative, former Sheriff Clarke addressing the crowd of protesters.
This protester, who attended an April rally is not promoting Nazism, she is equating Whitmer's overreaching orders on her citizens to Adolf Hitler.
Whitmer went on to outline a report she's seen from a group who claims to have put up a geofence around the Capitol “and then monitored cellphone data, and it translates where we are seeing hot spots in rural parts of Michigan,” the governor said. But she was quick with a caveat.
“I don't know the group; I've not vetted the data; I can't vouch for it, but I think that would not be a surprising outcome if that were the case.”
Whitmer was then asked if she “wants to see” the Michigan State Police ticket protesters who are violating social distancing orders.
“I think the Michigan State Police is monitoring all of the conversations around this event tomorrow – that they are prepared and are working with the attorney general,” she said.
