Now that Biden and company have dropped around $130 billon on Ukraine, it may be worth reflecting on the $130 billion that Franklin Roosevelt and company dropped on the USSR during WWII that backfired spectacularly with the survival of Stalin and the start of a nuclear-powered USSR and the Cold War.
It’s no secret that Roosevelt was a socialist who sympathized with communists and packed his administration with socialists. He was also bigoted and anti-semitic. Bearing in mind that Roosevelt was at least twice as smart as Biden, let’s take a moment to review some of his dumbest quotes.
Regarding the lend-lease, few us us know in detail exactly what the USSR received in that $130 billion package. We can be certain it did not fund the entire Soviet government payroll or pensions (as the US is doing for Ukraine), because the Lend-Lease is quite transparent. In fact, it’s so transparent that it begs the question of why—oh, tell us why—Roosevelt saw fit to send the USSR atomic materials needed to produce nuclear weapons. The bottom of the list contains some other oddities.
It’s worth noting that without the Lend-Lease, the USSR might have collapsed from the Nazi invasion while the Nazi invasion was doomed to failure anyway due to overextended supply trains and decimation of Nazi forces from warfare and weather. The US could have had a twofer by letting Hitler and Stalin duke it out, but no.
Not to imply that history is repeating itself today, but it’s worth noting that another sketchy Democrat administration is pouring cash and resources into another conflict, but this time we have no itemized list of where those resources are going or what clandestine Democrat agenda may be in play.
Biden claims he’s fighting for “the soul of America.” Tell that to the people of East Palestine, Ohio or the homeless veterans sleeping in the streets or the millions of us involuntarily funding the welfare of migrants illegally storming across our borders.
