Beautifully executed yet pointlessly bizarre:

Jaguar sells cars that usually are affordable only to the wealthy. In advertising, it's crucial to know your customer base. Who does Jaguar think is buying its cars?

Hint: the same type of people who pay $6.2 million for a banana:

Most Equally Esteemed Comrades,

That most compelling Kapitalist (spit spit) sales pitch reminded me of Comrade Bowie’s video for Ashes to Ashes from long ago.  Kind of sad inspiring that “Copy Nothing” is derivative.

Enjoying Deja Vu all over again in the Current Truth™,

Derivative? Definitely. It looked like a normal day in Alejandro Jodorowsky's mind.

Hmmm... Commissar Jackalopelipsy, that's very possible, IMHO

It can't happen here.

Jaguar's Managing Director, Rawdon Glover, insisted the company needs to stand out.
If we play in the same way that everybody else does we’ll just get drowned out,” he said.
So we shouldn’t turn up like an auto brand. We need to re-establish our brand and at a completely different price point so we need to act differently.”
“We don’t want to necessarily leave all of our customers behind. But we do need to attract a new customer base.”

None of Glover's words make sense for a firm that sells luxury cars, particularly since the only discernible customer base reflected in Jaguar's ad video is a fractional societal segment of sexually dysphoric people who are not recognized as a wealthy segment who could afford to buy Jaguars.

It's not about hate, Mr. Glover, it's about a spectacularly flawed advertising scheme.

Well, it could be worse. They could go back to using Lucas electrical parts.

Jaguar and Land Rover must hate themselves, and it's sad. To create a vehicle that can make it's own trail through wilderness and inclement weather, and a car line of luxury combination of engine, leather, and gadgets, and not be proud of that accomplishment as a corporation is stupid economics of business.

It's like Jaguar is going to have to start over and go back to Adam Smith's re-education school of thought, and get this Wealth of Nations economic thing going, again.

Do you mean attracting the new customer base that lives in Mom and Dad's basement?

Probably not. The orange-fingered neckbeards aren't known for their ability to afford anything other than video games and PornHub subscriptions.

Jaguar has released illustrations of its new concept car and criticism has only sharpened. For example:

Some have compared the new Jag to a Rolls Royce Spectre and trashed Jaguar's slogan, "Copy Nothing." Here's my comparison with the Jag's original color made to match the Spectre photo.

No surprise that they're similar, most cars within the same class are due perhaps to wind-tunnel modeling to improve aerodynamics. You be the judge, but it's not the car that's the controversy, it's the advertising.
