Time magazine has chosen Caitlin Clark as 2024 Athlete of the Year. One might think it's a logical choice due to her incredible achievements
this season alone as illustrated on Xwitter with this graphic by ClarkReport:
But no, Time cannot jeopardize its dedication to DEI by lionizing a person who defies an unwritten rule of
Equity: the Melanin-Deficient don't deserve
Equity due to their
Privilege.
Therefore, Time hit upon a
transparently disingenuous clever way to put Caitlin Clark on a pedestal only to knock her down. After all, the
Politically Correct understanding of the Women's National Basketball Association is that it's actually the
Black Women's National Basketball Association because
(follow the PC logic) basketball is now a
Black sport and any
White player who dares to excel in it is an affront and an intruder who steals honor from
Black players who can't outshine them.
(It's notable that the same sort of PC logic does not apply to men in women's sports.)
Thus, Time used its award to flip the narrative from Caitlin Clark's amazing record of achievements to a screed about Caitlin Clark's
White Privilege. Here's the cover with added subtext:
Just imagine what it would look like if Time's 2024 staff wrote about an Athlete of the Year after the Berlin Olympics in Nazi Germany back in 1936:
This is the nonsense that happens when merit is abandoned and racial identity is affixed to a sport
