Washington, DC -- Outgoing President Joe Biden gave his farewell speech this week and one of the themes was the dangers of 'dark money' and rich oligarchs in US Politics. "Dark money" refers to the process of giving political donations through complex financial arrangements that hide the contributions from the public and often are used to circumvent election integrity laws.
When asked about giving the Medal of Freedom recently to George Soros - a left-wing billionaire considered by many to be a kind of Dark Money Superspreader - President Biden initially seemed confused. "I did?" he stated.
After looking at his staff, President Biden then confirmed that he had done that "...to prove my own point. Do you think this super-rich oligarch would have gotten the highest civilian honor in this country if he hadn't used his shady organizations to deceive everyone and make that happen, Jack? We're talking about someone who funneled his money all over the country to influence everything he could: crooked, soft on crime DAs, corrupt election officials, state and federal elections, the ... and the... you know, the other things. I heard he even funded a transgender 3rd-grader in San Fransisco for student council. The American people really need to wake up to threats like this."
