Comrades, I know it's pure prog instinct that drives you to denounce Republicans for no reason at all, and for that you are to be commended. But consider for one moment the rare courage displayed by this Octocon, if I may coin a word.
They did what few, nay, no neocons dare to do: They defied marching orders from Rush and risked all--their careers, their families, body parts, etc.--to fall out of lockstep and actually think for themselves and do the patriotic thing.
Now, I would like you to take the time and read this article by the AP on how wonderful the results of this legislation will be!

Those green jobs would emerge, propelled by the push for nonpolluting energy sources.
That could mean making or installing solar panels, repairing wind turbines, producing energy-efficient light bulbs, working for an environmental engineering firm or waste recycler, making equipment that harnesses carbon from coal burning and churning out energy-saving washing machines or air conditioners.
Assembly line workers at factories that made gas-guzzling cars might see their future in producing the next generation of batteries or wind turbine blades — an emerging shift, though on a relatively small scale today.
Isn't that exciting? How many of you have dreamed of a rewarding career in fixing wind turbines, installing solar panels, recycling garbage, or even making light bulbs? Glamour! Adventure! Romance! Now it can be all yours!
Not only that, but if you know how to fill out the paperwork--or perhaps I should say, if you don't know how to fill it out but you're afraid to ask--you could get FREE energy for your home!
The poorest of homes could get a government check as a rebate for high energy costs. That money would come from selling pollution allowances for industry.
I couldn't be happier than if Obama were paying for my mortgage and gas. Crank up that air conditioner and put a TV in every room! But you know what's the best thing about this? The masses will become dependent on that rebate, and soon will not be able to survive without it, for it shall be elevated to the sacred rank of entitlement!
And that is just one more reason (as if any reason is necessary) the Republicans can never again be allowed control of Congress and/or the White House, because you just know the first thing they're going to do is dismantle all of this and take people's energy rebate checks away!
Without the rebate checks, people will no longer be able to afford their utility bills! Think of the consequences!
It means millions of old people and children will freeze to death during the winter, and die of heat stroke during the summer! It means millions will die of starvation, because they'll no longer be able to afford the energy required to cook meals and refrigerate perishable foods! It means millions will be forced out of their homes and onto the streets in search of shelter with working utilities! Homeless shelters will overflow! Food pantries will be plundered! Food shortages! Famine! Disease! Fewer polar bears! Crisis! It'll be just like the Bush years all over again!
So please, Comrades--for just one day, or if not that, one hour--or at the very least, for the length of time it takes you to read this post--acknowledge, however grudgingly, the bravery and patriotism of the Octocon, and all they have sacrificed to save us from certain catastrophe.
And if you need a little more perspective, just ask yourselves: If you were just another spineless, digitally-Limbaughtomized, Faux News-addicted, Bush-is-a-god-and-I-love-him-so-much-I'd-marry-him-if-I-didn't-think-like-all-neocons-that-anyone-who-doesn't-think-marriage-should-be-only-between-one-man-and-one-woman-should-be-taken-out-and-stoned-to-death-and-by-stoning-I-mean-throwing-rocks-because-I-believe-or-so-I'm-told-to-that-everything-to-do-with-marijuana-is-a-crime-also-punishable-by-stoning-to-death . . . would you dare risk the wrath of being savaged by Rush on his radio show?
Could you?
And just remember: After he's done raking you over the coals, he isn't going to ask if you're okay. Or if he does, he certainly isn't going to ask twice.
