The People's Cube - Political Satire

Friends, President Obama and his allies on the Left and in the media (yes, they are the same thing) have long insisted that taxes should be raised on "the rich" in order to provide him with more money to piss away close the tremendous budget deficit which he has had the bad luck to have caused. Obama has asserted that we must pursue greedy bastards who fly around in corporate jets (which they had the nerve to buy with their own money!) and make them pay for their "fair share" of the dirt needed to fill the holes that he and his allies in Congress keep digging us out of.

I have to confess to you, I agree. And I have a plan I'd like to submit for discussion.

Id like to propose raising taxes on what I call "public service billionaires", people like Barack Obama and the congressional freeloaders leaders who live like billionaires but on the public tab rather than from money they earned. How about a 30% tax on the fair value of all "free" travel, vacations, golf outings, fine food, parties, etc, the likes of deadbeats like the Obamas take at our expense? This should be retroactive so that former Speaker Nancy Pelosi will pay a tax on all the booze-drenched cross-country trips she took on "the people's 757" which she ordered to be acquired at our expense. I'm sure they will not mind kicking in their fair share to help the country work its way out of the crisis that has, by sheer coincidence, happened to occur on their watch. After all, these politicians are enjoying lifestyles of the rich and famous without the annoyance of having to make the money to pay for them, not to mention the other little nuisances others have to put up with like spending less than they earn, worrying about the failure of their investments because some idiots in Washington blew up the economy, etc. So paying a bit of tax on public-provided freebees is a small price to pay in return. Besides, we all know Obama is a great leader; chipping in some tax would be leadership by example, the best kind. A great leader like Obama would NEVER ask other greedy billionaires to do something he himself would not do, right?

Now, I know many straw men and women out there are saying, "But Opiate, that wouldn't raise a lot of revenue; why bother?" Remember, as our very smart president once said, it's not about raising revenue, it's about fairness. And I don't think it's fair that a useless imbecile who's crippled the economy should be able to enjoy riding around on the world's biggest corporate jet for nothing. Again, to quote our illustrious president, “I do think at a certain point you've made enough money”; I'm sure we all agree this also applies to people who actually don't make the money they waltz around acting as if they made.

BTW, the lifetime free benefits ex-presidents receive should be liable to the tax also. Ex-president Obama will likely be raking in huge speaking fees for continuously regurgitating the same words of wisdom that helped create the worst economic crisis since the first Great Depression. I am sure he would not mind "contributing" a little of that booty to feed the starving children his cluelessness helped to starve.

I am sorry if my plan sounds a little like sour grapes but I have been a progressive for a long time and have always been taught that class warfare is socially just. If there's one thing I resent more than people who earn more money than me and live like Middle Eastern potentates, it's people who don't earn more money than me and live like Middle Eastern potentates. (BTW, the comparison of Obama with a Middle Eastern potentate is just an unfortunate choice of words, no offense intended. As the media would say, "wink wink".)

Hopefully, this plan will make sense to everyone and it will gain some traction. I also have some other plans in mind, like a Windfall Profits Tax on con-men who push frauds like AGW and Climate Change in order to suppress energy production and raise the value of their investments in useless "green" energy companies. They are cheating the average person worse than the stinking oil companies and they should be forced to share some of their ill-gotten gains with the people they stole from.

Comrade Cat, it is our privledge to be alive and semi-conscious during the ascendency and triumph of the Dear Leader Obama, a gift which makes us "rich". We are and will be taxed dearly for that bounty.

During the debt ceiling crisis, which was such a crisis that it made all other crises look like flowery meadows in April, I posted on as many boards as I could find the suggestion that the Republican leadership (headed by democrats like Rep Boehner and Sen McConnell) go on national TV and express that they had seen the light beaming down from Dear Leader's head and were ready to tax those mean old millionaires and billionaires, but get them where they live with a real wealth tax of 25% on anyone with a net worth over 5 million. They could then thank the president for his wisdom in helping to get even fairer shares out of the "rich". Then watch the balancing act as Barry back pedaled around his Hollywood and Washington pals and gals. Lest anyone think otherwise, I'm dead set against a wealth tax and firmly believe recovery will begin when tax rates and industry regulations are reduced across the board and made permanent.<br>

When he opens a lemonade stand and sells his first cup, he'll have earned his first real, i.e., not coercive, dollar and then can retire.

What do you mean "will taste like?" Are you trying to tell me you wouldn't lay down a cool half-mil of OPM to sample a swig of Dear Leader's wee-wee'd up wonder juice?

Not to worry, Komrades! Dear Leader's Lemon-flavoured Koolaid establishment would be too big to fail. And besides, there would be around 49% of the population who will always demand to drink Obama's Koolaid...

If that is not enough, it should be a simple matter of passing an individual mandate for everyone to purchase a daily ration -- roughly a 55 gallon drum-full. If we can push one through congress, then a simple executive order will do nicely.

What a wonderful idea. Selling a drum of Dear Oleader's flaccid lemonade. It cannot be hard lemonade; that has alcohol in it. Flaccid owing to Michelle having his bits in a lockbox leaving him only with brass balls instead of real ones.

But then why should Dear Odimbo be concerned with acting like a mensch? He's an affirmative-action baby. He doesn't have to man up and on the evidence won't. All he has to do is make noises that he likes, and people have orgasms listening.

Do you think that $500,000 a glass will be enough? That won't fund the government for more than about two seconds, and a prog is not a real prog if there is a dollar left unstolen, a liberty remaining, or any individual responsibility.

Well, we might have to listen to a speech of his as we drink Obozo's Kool-Ade.

But I have to say that I do love Dear Barry Oenema. He makes me feel even better than when I see a town like Detroit completely destroyed by rapacious, and therefore good, unions and other thugs of like mind.
