Proving that taxpayer dollars are being well spent on green investments, the People's Navy has recently begun testing a promising green prototype ship propulsion system. The new system was conceived of by a branch of researchers who were formally with the Whitehouse Council of Economic Advisors but had recently transferred to the People's Navy Research and Development Department.
The Whitehouse stated that the transfer was a reward for the outstanding work they had done in the past with regards to the economy and the advice they had given to President Obama on how to run the economy. A spokesman for the Whitehouse spokesman stated, " They did such an outstanding job on the economy and the course that they set will stay with millions of Americans for years to come, we thought...Hey, let's spread that brilliant talent around to some other worthwhile endeavors".
The People's Navy welcomed the research team with open arms along with the Department of Energy grant of 4 billion dollars in taxpayer money to research the propulsion systems of the future People's Navy fleet.
The team after setting up shop immediately showed the same brilliance that they had displayed with economic models and soon a general consensus was found that a system using magnetism was the path to take for the green propulsion wave of the People's Navy future.
On August 8th the first test of the prototype system was conducted off the waters of Generational Theft bay near the People's navy headquarters. The propulsion technology was shown to be a great success: but further testing will be required to further vet the new technology. The People's Navy in the interim though was so encouraged by the preliminary results that it has authorized a release of a non-classified photo of the initial sea trial.
