I am sure that many of you have heard about these incidents:

Several commenters have suggested that someone investigate them, so inspired by the successful arrest of people like Luka Roco Magnotta I decided to take up the challenge. It will be much easier for us, as many of the accounts have location based services, and the actual name of the criminal. Some of the posts even cite the location that they vandalized/stole from. A successful investigation of an individual will lead to contacting the victim of the crime or local affiliated group with the information aquired and (depending on local vandalization law) contacting their local police department.

If you are aware of any similar efforts please update this post with the information or email me at [url=mailto:[email protected]][email protected][/url].

I will be directing people assisting outside of this community to this page. Feel free to contribute in any way that will benefit the case. If you or someone you know has experience in this matter (law enforcement or civilian assistance via online criminal investigation), please feel free to lead the way.

You can start by screenshotting twitter posts and relevent account information: legal name, location, photographs, and admissions of guilt. If the account has a legal name or accesable email/phone number assigned to it, search the facebook directory, and if you find a match (see pictures, school, city, email address, phone number) check page privacy limitations. Screenshot any information that may imply involement in the act of vandalism. If there is too much data (subject to admins discretion) I could open a dropbox directory or one of the participants could host the data by some other means.

I suggest that we organize our efforts through text, and wait for thepeoplescube admin to approve or disapprove of the posting of picture data here.

If you are looking for unobtrusive survalliance equipment for your car, this might be a good solution for short visits to the story.


I am not sure how useful it would be for this purpose. I will post a review of the camera being used in this manner on Oct 2nd or 3rd.
