Barbie and Ken's life under socialism

User avatar
Teach your kids socialist values with this play kit. Includes Barbie and Ken in the kitchen of a Soviet communal apartment, with a realistic look and feel of the era, circa 1970s or 1980s.

Guaranteed to turn all children into Bernie-voting socialists when they grow up.

Just tell them that in Soviet Russia, dolls play you!

'pelipsky's life flashed before the eyes...but round here 'pelipsky don't know jack about what's the problem and how to fix it. Kind of makes 'pelipsky go nutz...it's so stuck on traditional stupid.

Comrades, living this glorious life...there is an alternative reality to this virtual hell, you just gotta want it and use it like a school boy would. Not all boomers are boomers...just sayin'

Poor Ken, all those years in the VDV only moved him slightly ahead in the waiting list for a new apartment.

Please do not confuse the involuntarily socialist Barbie with this wannabe socialist Barbie.

Very nice gravy train you have there. The gravy is gluten free and tofu based, of course?

Dinner for the whole commune I trust.

And Barbie is obtaining these frilly undergarments from people's stores, is she? Socialist Barbie, it is to make me laugh. Ha! Barbie must shop at Берёзка to buy these things, and in only one way can she be obtaining Amerikanskiy dollars to do so.

Cat. It's what's for dinner.

The involuntary socialist's lament is like the military draftees lament about mess food: It tastes like crap and they won't even give you seconds.

Looks like life under socialism (when it's done right) is better than living in San Fran Nan's district.................................

Vodka and cigarettes, breakfast of champions...

Of the vodka, either speak good or don't drink.

Many think vodka is a way out, but it's really a way in. It works in mysterious ways: the taste is always the same, but the adventures are always different.

And here an entry point for further visual studies of kommunalka, with focus on kukhnia (kitchen).

(Lara's μ-studio of Barbie-n-Ken's kommunalnaya kukhnia is absolutely stunning - the details!!!)
(Сода, Соль, - where is Мука, eh? -, Mayakovsky's poster, rusty paints, that wastebasket, etc.)

What I found amusing about that article, is that one can read it in Chinese (indeed, two different Chinese variants are offered).

Shh! it is beneficial for the Party that the losers continue to think that. This is how the Russian Bolsheviks also were able to obtain additional support from the intelligentsia, many of whom actually believed that under communism all wives would be nationalized and redistributed.

Heh! Heh! Comrade Red Square, now you are taking my wife ... please. *boom boom*

In America it is said, women are like buses, another one will be along in a minute. In Soviet Russia this is also true, women are like buses. *boom boom*

In Soviet Russia, bus rides you! And is enjoying it more, according to enlightened Party doctrine.
