Won’t socialism be impractical? Absurd.

A recent post has reminded me that it has been awhile since I last visited the website of my favorite American organization, the Democratic Socialists of America. I cannot emphasize the word Democratic enough, as that is what differentiates them from failed attempts at socialism, few as they are.

Nothing sums up the Marxist ideology empowering philosophy of this group of proud global citizens, stuck in a capitalist dystopia, as the answer to this question in their About Us page:

Won't socialism be impractical because people will lose their incentive to work?

"We don't agree with the capitalist assumption that starvation or greed are the only reasons people work. People enjoy their work if it is meaningful and enhances their lives. They work out of a sense of responsibility to their community and society. Although a long-term goal of socialism is to eliminate all but the most enjoyable kinds of labor, we recognize that unappealing jobs will long remain. These tasks would be spread among as many people as possible rather than distributed on the basis of class, race, ethnicity, or gender, as they are under capitalism. And this undesirable work should be among the best, not the least, rewarded work within the economy. For now, the burden should be placed on the employer to make work desirable by raising wages, offering benefits and improving the work environment. In short, we believe that a combination of social, economic, and moral incentives will motivate people to work."

It will be just like my Kim Jung Un's Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Labor there is already distributed among the incredibly diverse population. Furthermore, because the maniacal dictator and my sister the People proclaim there are no unappealing jobs and everyone is equal, we lead the way toward the coveted GWONT™. Come join us!

Democratic - and that is the key word, isn't it - Socialism is so ahead of the curve, Dear Leader. If only it could happen here as workers are very unhappy that they are unable to work. These unhappy Amerikkkan workers are crying like some mean Amerikkkan Socialist Democrat took away their lollipops. What these crybabies were doing even in possession of contraband lollipops must be investigated as a crime against the purity that is the Democratic Socialists of Amerikkka.

Whoa, Dude. Dear Leader is my father. The name's Dear Respected Comrade, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army

That is, it's Kim's Jong Un's father. But you can just call me him Dear Respected Comrade.

Most profuse mythical horned rodent apologies. Nothing like getting you mixed up in some succession - which is NOT necessary as Kim Jong Un was never dead - just visiting a fertilizer plant. Getting mixed up in succession could be hazardous to Dear Respected Comrade's health, and 'pelipsky only wishes the best health to respected comrade, Kim Jong Fun and his whole Juiche Couture Empire.
