Atlanta, GA -- In a mistake this week, CNN published the wrong images in an article about fires and damage to Iran's capital city from the recent Israeli offensive.  The images used were actually of Los Angeles, CA, showing some isolated fires from the mostly peaceful anti-ICE protests this past weekend.

Keen-eyed internet sleuths were quick to discover the error and multiple posts on X elevated the issue.  To correct the mistake, CNN issued a retraction of the photos and instead published updated images with the correct city in flames.

CNN Chief Editor Gavin Stockwood apologized, saying "Please remember, we are really running with a skeleton crew here.  It's like no one trusts us anymore, so they don't watch and we've had to lay people off.  I hope everyone accepts my apology.  It's a mistake anyone could have made."

Coming up at 9: “Facts, Allegedly” with footage of Antifa setting fire to a Starbucks, repackaged as "Israeli airstrikes on Gaza coffee infrastructure."

CNN: "The Mostly Trusted Name in Mostly Accurate News."

The gold standard in selective truth-telling, now with 30% more emotional framing.

Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass wish it was Israeli aggression rather than the current "mostly peaceful anti-ICE protesters" performing urban renewal in Los Angeles.
