What does it remind me of? Where else can one find online resources focused exclusively on how their own country is covered by foreign media?

The Motherland!

I've come across a number of Russian websites that do nothing but translate and publish foreign media articles about Russia, and the stories are always surprisingly positive. It must be the only nation on Earth running such projects.

One might think it's very narcissistic of them - except that tracking foreign sources and translating articles from multiple languages is way too expensive for plain narcissism.

However, it's a very efficient way for a deep-pocketed government to create propagandistic cameos which, like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, fit into a larger narative: "we are good, they are bad."

So they run websites that target Russia with positive international stories, many of which they themselves had likely planted.

And they also run websites that target America with negative international stories, many of which they themselves had likely planted.

It's what they do.

So now you know.

Ha ha, Algore is being considered for the Baseball Hall of Fame and for Miss Teen USA. He'd probably make it too.

Speaking of foreign papers and translations..... I have met the fellow who owns this site a couple of times at a local coffee shop. He went to high school with my sister, and knows a few of the Pup's friends. Anyway, I informed on you, and the People's Cube. Even suggested that you might wish to link to his newspaper translations here. He has apparently been living and working in Berlin the past few years doing research for some things, and just came home to take care of his mother. He saw the People's Cube, and being the progressive that he is... well. anyway, he was most impressed. He actually told me he knows some former KGB officers in Germany and sent the site to them, and they loved it.

He tells me there is something special about 11/9, though personally I think you could find all sorts of weird connections on any date. It was interestingly enough, a very important days for Nationalist Socialists as far back as 1918. It was the date of the failed putsch of Hitlers, a national Nazi holiday, the day of Kristal Nacht, and also the fall of the Berlin Wall.

But I also caught and informed him of at least one error in that site. He had that fiction about Oliver North testifying about Bin Laden threatening his family way back in the Arms for Hostages "scandal." I always laugh about that since I was in the hospital the day North made that great testimony in front of Congress, and I watched every minute of it, and knew it was Abu Nidal, who was the most wanted terrorist on earth at the time. a terrorist I might add died in Iraq shortly before the most recent "war." So I can not vouch for the accuracy of everything there.

I just came across this old topic. Almost seven years later, the anti-American propaganda is still on. The artices are now about different issues, but the general idea remains the same.

At least in the past the KGB and the GRU did this in order to spark a communist revolution.

Today the only conceivable goal is demoralization, division, hatred, and self-destruction of America as a free, productive, and optimistic nation.
