Venezuelans can no longer afford to be fat. In the last few years they've lost an average of around twenty kilos per person, which is over 40 lbs. As a result of people getting slimmer, they also started living longer, with fewer Venezuelans dying of diabetes and heart disease.
All of which is fantastic! Except it may not last. Many anti-science Venezuelans, taking their cues it seems from Donald Trump and others on the far right, have been trying to defund science in Venezuela.
Venezuelans have taken to the streets to march for science. If people start eating more and moving less they'll put all that weight back on and soon the nation will be right back where it started, fat and unhealthy.

Ah, nothing solves obesity like good old forced labor and rationing. It worked very well in the gulags and extended lifespans. Instead of immediate execution following a show trial, they were graciously given a few more months at best to relieve their guilt with agony. Then again, we shouldn't judge people based on their weight. Fatness is beauty and those without it should be shamed and called anorexic!

How would government enlist other comrades to go drag people to the gulag, protect the leaders power and things like that if everyone is equal. Those people will be eating and needing toilet paper. Toilet paper can be as good as gold in certain situations if you know what I mean.

The Profit Prophet Mohammed (PBBTHRRRT) advises that you use clean sand or a rock, held in the left hand. If no clean sand or rock is immediately available, use the left hand alone and clean the hand later with said sand or rock. I cannot remember what he advises if there is no left hand.
Of course, we cats have been using clean sand and rocks forever. Call it the Religion of Litter Boxes,™ if you will. (Or even if you will not. We have ways of persuading you.)
