Sorry it took so long to respond. The beet fields required extended tending.
That song is truly sad. The highest aspiration a North Korean can have is to survive long enough to be an old guy eating a potato. Talk about lowering expectations.
Almost as soul crushing as the Pink Floyd song The Gunners Dream.
Remember that movie "Empire of the Sun"? At one point John Malkovich was asking the kid if he remember what he had been told. The kid responded, "People will do anything for a potato."
Rejoice in the glorious potato harvest of the GWONT! Perhaps an equally bountiful beet harvest will follow? What does the 5 year plan call for?
