Sugar & Spice - and a head full of bats

The '08 race is getting stale even as it begins. The same old faces, the same old platitudes. Missing is the one dark horse who is not dark at all. Instead she is in the national spotlight everyday. Call her Miss Nancy.

Depending on which side of the political fence they are on, national pundits are either salivating or crying over House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). Republicans can't stand her, claim that "she wants to to continue trying to diminish the importance of 'this presidency'", all the while pointing at the Republicans and declaring 'For shame!' -- Horrors! What would she do next? With a whip in one hand and a chair in the other would she push for legislation that would force an end to the ongoing U.S. presence in Iraq and expand Childrens Health Care??!

As usual, the Rethuglicans are shortsighted regarding Speaker Pelosi. While they are concentrating on how much damage she might do to their conservative agenda - flaying them on Iraq, the SCHIP Program, the minimum wage, tax cuts for the wealthy, and the Medicare welfare program for the pharmaceutical industry - they should also be looking down the road and considering what she might do during four or eight years as Vice President Pelosi. Vice President Pelosi? Yes - she has been in the muddy trenches on the floor of the House - give her a chance, and she will go a long way toward bringing America out of intensive care and putting us on the road to recovery. Speaker Pelosi is a person of integrity and honor. We should have no doubt that she will make good on her promises. We should praise her for them. Often. So no one forgets what a marvelous leader she truly is.

There is something about Miss Nancy that won't be denied. She has led her mule-stubborn majority in the House through one of the worst eras of legislative floundering the Democrats have ever experienced. And she has done it with style and class, qualities that House Republicans only equate with money and power, as evidenced by their arrogant mishandling of our nation's legislative process.

Miss Nancy has the perfect background to become the first woman Vice President of the United States. She was born into a family that believes in giving. Her father was Mayor of Baltimore, as was her brother. She began her own career in public service as a grunt in the Democratic party, making phone calls, knocking on doors, stuffing envelopes, etc. She has been an activist all of her adult life. In addition, Miss Nancy is a mom - a mother of five, and is also a grandmother, something Miss Hillary and Chelsea have yet to accomplish. And while the Republicans hate Hillary, they fear Nancy. When Nancy plays the mother or grandmother card at political gatherings in churches or in town halls, or on the battlefield of the House floor, even sneering Republicans have to shuffle their feet and sweat over the lady from California with the shock of red hair.

She demands respect by her mere presence, and she gets it. But what about Hillary? Hillary Clinton will do just fine. In fact, she deserves to be President after having to put up with Bill's escapades for eight years in the White House, who has had trouble keeping his hands, and other body parts, away from attractive women. One might think that if Mr. Bill had done that to Miss Nancy as First Husband, he would be missing some of those body parts.

So how about a Clinton-Pelosi ticket in 2008? Can you imagine what the White House would be like after these ladies changed the drapes and rearranged the antique furniture? Mr. Bill probably wouldn't be allowed into the building. And Republicans would be admonished to wipe their feet and doff their caps before they would be allowed into the Oval Office, after which Hillary and Miss Nancy would torture them into submission, whatever the subject. I don't know about you, but I would give up most of my sinning ways just to be a fly on the walls of the White House during a Clinton-Pelosi administration.

Bring it on.

Also a tip of the hat to Commissar Pupovich for the "let's go out and change it" reference on the poster (this thread). Thank you Commisioner!

"This is a good and great country. Let's go out and change it!"

Comrades (takes a deep, dramatic breath) my words simply cannot do justice to the elegant, clear and multi-dimensional meaning of this statement. I am left breathless, speechless and enlighted by this astounding Truth™ of Her words. Our Beloved Empress has expressed the epitome of our cause with this single <s>Siren</s> clarion call to the Party faithful.

I nominate this statement to be added to the Moments of Progressive Clarity Exibit at the People's Museum Of American Progressive Collectivism (opening March 2012). This vaults far ahead of MoveOn's "We bought it, we own it and we're going to take it back" statement regarding the Democrat Party and Sen. Ted Kennedy's "At a time when our entire country is banding together and facing down individualism...." statement.

First off, many thanks for the kind words Comrade Kalishnikov. But I must point out something when you talk of 4 to 8 years of Nancy as vice president, that seems to imply that the outmoded current political system will still be in place. You may as well have said 40, 400, or even 4,000 years. The Party will be in power, with Hillary as our leader for as long as she deems to be our Empress. I suppose one day she may tire of such trivial things and set her eyes on grander titles, or even decide to take it easy and retire with whatever next generation Hildo Hydra has been developed.

I'm afraid you mis-understand, Commissar. Of course The Empress will lead for eternity - that is a given, and I assumed that it went without saying. However, I do not think Empress Rodham-Clinton will put up with another powerful and influential woman so close to Her. That breeds dissidence, and once her usefulness is no longer needed, Miss Nancy will find herself left with a choice: car accident, or self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Need I remind you of the tale of Nikolai Antipov?

Comrade Kalashnikov, you forgot "sent on a fact finding mission".

Oh, I forgot to tell you thanks for the new shipment of drum magazines. Now it's even easier to convert dissidents into permanent Democrat voters.

Right, right, of course. My mistake.

Da, anytime. Let us know if your quota needs to be increased.

But is that not what your opening post suggests? That Her Empress and Nancy would be a formidable pair in the White *Red* House?

The Annoyingly Nit-Picky Commissar Pupovich wrote:But is that not what your opening post suggests? That Her Empress and Nancy would be a formidable pair in the White *Red* House?

Perhaps I need to go over the basics again, Commissar.

As it stands now, our system is set up for elections with a President, and a Vice President. When our Glorious Empress is "elected", she cannot do it alone - she will need the complicity of a second party - the Vice Presidential Nominee. Together, once in power, they can proceed with plans of creating a Socialist State.

Socialism or, as Marx termed it, 'the first phase of communist society', can be viewed as a transitional stage. We see this stage in history as a transition between capitalism and the "higher phase of communist society" in which human beings no longer suffer from alienation and "all the springs of co-operative wealth flow more abundantly."

Once the Party has a firm grasp on power, then, and only then, can Empress Clinton amend the Constitution and extend term limits (or eliminate them, if she so desires), strike the need for a "Vice <s>Empress</s> President", and so on.

To do so any sooner would risk uprising by the bourgeoisie, and open dissent. Power obtained, she can begin systematically eliminating any opposition, and quietly remove any threats to her (rightful) sovereignty. Including Nancy.

Long live the world socialist revolution!

You scared me at first with putting someone who is soo attracted to absolute power next to the Empress to be.

Now I see the logic!! An expendable "Vice" to send on "fact-finding missions" and one who has access to defaced firearms for self-inflicted "employment terminations".

Plus we cannot forget the many other ways to "exit stage left" that those who have dared cross Hillary went.

Ah, so sorry that I needed more explanation....but you know how easy it is for one to slip into thought crime.

I apologize for being short with you Commissar, I should be more patient. I forget that Marx and Engels are not required reading here in the 'states. Perhaps I should construct a primer on the Principles of Communism as it relates to the Peoples Cube, written with the intention of spreading among the great unwashed some elementary knowledge of the history, development, and future of Communism in Amerika.

If anyone would like this, please let me know, and I will prepare a draft for Party approval as soon as time allows.

Oh, it was not so much the doctrine that eluded me, it was just your post seemed to have ended with the vice president in office. Had it went beyond that, I am sure I would have understood where you were coming from.

"I would give up most of my sinning ways just to be a fly on the walls of the White House during a Clinton-Pelosi administration."

I just misinterpreted that as implying Nancy would be there the whole reign.

Hey, that reminds me. Didn't ol' Leon also die of "natural causes"?

User avatar
No, my friend. He was purged. Trotsky was a traitor of the Revolution and therefore justifiably purged by Stalin.

Please, let us not mention non-person "T" any more, lest we suffer the same fate.

I believe that non-person committed suicide by throwing himself upon an ice axe... it is a rather common thing in Mexico you know?

Ah, many pardons then, comrade. Back at the WJC (Wiiliam J. Clinton Memorial People's Reeducation Center and Uranium Mine), we always refer to that sort of thing as a "natural cause".

Hmmm... that sounds like death by natural causes in Arkansas during the '80s.

Nothing odd at all.

Yes, I found all sorts of these freak 'natural deaths' recorded on two websites above.

Yep... Ill tempered, mutated sea bass!!! Obviously they were introduced by the evil Halliburton!! Ok, I know they would have had to be placed before the evil ones made that company, but they have this Rovian time machine and went back in time to hurt their political foes.....

Yeah... That's it... Hey, it will sell to the Berkeley crowd who believes anything anyways.
