Demonstrate in Solidarity with Venezuela's Ban on Free Press

This email came from Ramsey Clark's International Action Center, with a link to sign the petition: https://www.iacenter.org/handsoffvenezuela.shtml

It could easily be placed to the Truth section and nobody would notice the difference:

STAND in SOLIDARITY with the Bolivarian Revolution!

Tell the Bush Administration: HANDS OFF Venezuela!

Demonstration in Solidarity with Venezuela at the
Venezuelan Consulate
51st between Madison & 5th Ave.

WEDNESDAY
JUNE 20
4:00 P.M. - 6:30 P.M.

A hostile campaign against the Venezuelan government under the name of "Free Expression" has been opened up by the opposition forces in Venezuela and its allies abroad, particularly in the United States after the announcement that the broadcasting license of Radio Caracas Television (RCTV) would not be renewed once it expired on May 27, 2007.

The Venezuelan government's decision is a legal and legitimate one based on their constitution which guarantees and regulates the access and use of airwaves for the benefit of the general public. RCTV broke these laws and consequently lost its license. It has not been silenced, for it can continue broadcasting by cable, satellite and Internet!

RCTV has consistently worked against the interests of the majority of Venezuelan people. Its programming has been sexist, racist and pejorative. Most importantly, it actively participated in the 2002 coup against President Chavez.

After he was reinstated to office by millions of Venezuelans, RCTV prohibited its reporters to broadcast ANY of this information, therefore denying its audience vital information about their democratically elected government. According to an article in the Houston Chronicle, that action in the USA "would not have lasted more than a few minutes with the FCC". RCTV was not closed then and had been broadcasting until this past May 27!

Join us on Wednesday, June 20 to stand in solidarity with the people of Venezuela and to demand an end to the Bush Administrations destabilization campaign against Venezuela.

Before I comment on the above, I just want to express my feelings and outrage that we are still in Iraq slaughtering Iraqis wholesale while Dick Cheney gets drunk of the Halliburton blood soaked profits. I also wish for Rush Limbaugh to be gagged and not informed when a hurricane approaches his residence out of hope that he will be whisked away never to torment us again. I'm saying these things out of concern for the General Good and as a progressive Amerikan. Thank you.

END RANDOM PROGRESSIVE "CONCERN" COMMENT... START PROGRESSIVE ANTI-AMERICAN COMMENT...

Comrades, I will answer comrade Ramsey's call to march in solidarity with our Venezuelan comrades! Arm-in-arm and with the Fairness Doctrine in hand, I will denounce any efforts by this Administration to snatch totalitarian utopia away from these noble and progressive people! How dare the KKKons try to impose their freedom on other countries! HOW DARE THEM!

Freedom of speech only belongs to a select few that the Party designates "CLEAR" to practice such a "responsibility". Remember, free speech isn't a right, it's a privilege!

Because they're afraid of a 21st century socialist nation showing the world why our enlightened system works. America has always been afraid of socialism and the progress it can have on the humyn condition... that is why America comes up with such lies like "communism has killed over 100,000,000+ people" or the classic "communism is a ruthless oppressive system that strangles individualism and silences opposition". These half-truths, or more appropriately, these fascist propagandistic lies of injustice are just that - injust lies. The People know better than to embrace such lies and will accept the jackboot over freedom, because they know that they will get equality and a living-wage if they embrace the jackboot.

North Korea works and there is nothing you can do to convince us otherwise, EBA! IT'S PROGRESS, DAMMIT! I rather the state do the thinking for me... thinking is just too hard these days - not to mention unfashionable. You do want to be fashionable, don't you!? Well, don't you!?!

Let us never forget the debt that we owe to Ramsey Clark. Bravely he violates the fascist law prohibiting private citizens from traveling in the name of the United States and treating with diplomacy in the name of the United States. He blazed the way for that giant of compassion, the Goober Grabber, James Earl Carter. Without the example of Ramsey Clark, Jimmy Carter would never have had the courage to show how impotent and evil the American administration was by finding General Adid.

There are those who consider Ramsey Clark the first performance artist of diplomacy. I consider myself one of those.
