NBC News has fired a producer following a probe into its broadcasting of a misleading edit during coverage of the republican primary race , two sources at the network said. The producer was not identified by the sources. NBC News declined to comment when asked about the dismissal, which the sources said took place on Thursday.

Reuters had previously reported that the "seasoned" producer was at the center of the probe.

NBC News executives interviewed more than half a dozen employees during their investigation of the network's editing of a story on the typical republican voter sources at the network had said on Thursday. The edit made it appear as though the coverage in the story was actually unbiased, fair and totally objective in its description of republican voters. It gave the impression that republicans were actually opposed to President Obama based on his policies and not because they were bitter bible clingers that love guns, hate women and can't stand to see a black man in the oval office.

Mainstream media pressure applied from other outlets has been building on the network to fully explain the incident - which critics charge have tamped down the latest mainstream reporting efforts to demonize republicans as the party that will actually roll back the country to the dreaded Reagan years and throw granny off the cliff.

On Thursday, a New York Times editorial characterized the edited coverage as "pretty damning evidence of some serious willful misconduct by NBC News" and even suggested that violence could ensue at the occupy movement rallies over the irresponsible news coverage.

Sources at the network said on Thursday that NBC News executives did not learn the coverage was misleadingly edited until news reports surfaced days later on right-leaning blogs including Newsbusters.org and Breitbart.com that were expressing shock that a non-biased story on republicans had actually appeared on NBC.

NBC News has apologized for the incident and promised its viewers and readers that in the future they can be assured that all future stories will continue to be firmly in the tank for Obama and his re-election.

Oooh, there is nothing that will strike fear into the hearts of other potential miscreants like the firing of an unnamed lunch producer who was not hired specifically for this purpose as far as we have been told. This will emphasize to all other MSM journalists how important integrity is to big time professional media outfits! NBC has made a clear statement that it will not tolerate any employee getting caught faking evidence, fabricating stories or promoting an agenda above reporting the news. Good show trial.

Editing is a very strong word that implies some sort of predisposition,
what was done is called a "creative adjustment" which all nut works do.
What is the big deal?

Reason for editing this post: issued an extra word!

Networks lying their behinds off is the expected norm nowadays. The Communist Party approved agenda of the Democrats need more strong communist liars so that the eventual mass starvation in the US will be met with the same approbation: What is the big deal?

He should've known better than to think for himself at an MSM news network.
