I hereby issue this Progressive Fatwa denouncing implicit publication of thought-crimes in the form of struck-through polemical terrminology sarcasm evidencing latent beliefs in capitalism and what the tea-baggers call "liberty." Not that struck-through polemical terminology sarcasm is never suitable, but rather, that it's unsuitable as a predominant form of commentary.

I say that when we follow this approach, we give the appearance of insincerity our claims of loyalty to the Collective Good and thus undermine the strength and power of the examples set by our Founder, a master of Agit-Prop that conveyed the message with the utmost appearance of sincerity and conviction and without sarcasm casting doubt on the sincerity of such convictions.

There are at least two places suitable for discussion of this Fatwa's merits (or lack thereof). One is by sincerely progressive commentary here. The other is inside the Thought-Crime Gulag where proles, progs and high party officials are permitted to behave "out of character" in order to "purge" themselves of thought-crimes..

I think my Fatwa is being misunderstood. What made the Cube the best of its kind was Red Square's ability to pose entirely within the Collective Mindset (except, of course, for occasional "out of character" lapses) in composing agit-prop text and creating agit-prop art. Posts that are entirely within the Collective Mindset are the ones that exemplify the Cube at its best. They are the posts (and artwork) that best fulfill the Cube's mission.

But I say this with humility and without any intent to assert or imply that my posts exemplify such skill-- they don't. To paraphrase a truth expressed in the Great Book: "We all have fallen short of the Glory of Red Square."


Indeed, some may ask, "Why are you even here in the Cube, Mr. 'Kommissar of Fatwas,'" but I think the answer is clear: Since the beginning of the reign of George W. Bush the Terrible, our Progressive Leaders have understood the maxim embraced by Bush's jihadist enemies-- i.e., "The enemy of my enemy is my friend," and so our Progressive Leaders wisely understood that making apolgia for Bush's enemies constituted an effective way for Progressives to increase the breadth and scope of attacks on Bush. That's why Progressives wisely allowed me, a jihadist, to join the Collective Brotherhood. I realize (as do they) that it is an alliance of convenience. For them, it's like Stalin having collaborated with the capatilist pig, Churchill, to defeat his (Stalin's) socialist rival, Hitler. We're scorpions in a bottle.

Progressives (especially the wise and scientifically astute ones such as Rosie O'Donnell) understand that Christians are a far, far greater threat than Jihadists, so they employ the tactical advantage of attacking the Christians for intolerantly opposing the Jihadists.

Thus, the final maxim is "The enemy of my enemy is my friend (for now)," and so, my Fatwas today heap praise on Lenin and Marx and their progeny.
