If I Were Not A Progressive, I Would Wonder

Each group of people when assembled for a common purpose has its share of interesting people. The recent political events have made me wonder more deeply about just who and what kind of people populate the different political parties. The two major parties have some common diversities of rich, middle class, smart and not as smart. I think you could find at least some examples of every possible label in either party. But does anyone ever ask themselves why they belong to the same political party to which most of the country's weird, perverted derelicts belong? I might ask myself what I had in common with these people, if you are truly the company you keep, I mean.

I know the conditioned answer is "we want to help people". I suspect, when the compassion colored camouflage is stripped away, the real answer is "we want stuff and we want others to pay for it". It is social justice, or as we called it in my day, theft. At least then, when you were mugged, the thief didn't insist that you speak well of him after he stole your possessions. And thieves in my day did not feel morally superior for having stolen your stuff. But I have no doubt that thieves, even then, needed the things they stole and maybe needing and wanting things is a good enough reason to take them. It seems to be a winning platform for Democrats today.

Comrade People's Comrade, I once had a girlfriend, not all that long ago. She was bright, caring, sweet, and generally wonderful. But she was a liberal. We made it work for a while, because I was willing to put up with that because of all the good things about her that, to me, more than offset her politics; eventually, she couldn't handle my conservatism, and off she went.

What I could never understand was why she, a very intelligent and seemingly aware person, chose to hang out with people who were, for all intents and purposes, from the Island of Dr. Moreau. Truly - we would visit with couples that were her friends, and without fail I would think (quietly, to myself) as we left, "Oh. My. God. Can she truly not see what utter imbecilic fools these weirdos are?"

But no, she apparently couldn't. Perhaps it was because she'd spent her entire adult life in Academe. She was certainly much too bright, and much too genuinely caring for these losers she hung with.

But whatever the deal was, it was an eye opener to me of how totally Different those people are - they really don't live in the real world. And there's something very basically Wrong with them. As I've said before, I think that liberals in general are people who, for one reason or another, never finished maturing emotionally and mentally.

Scary. Just scary. Is it any wonder that, as their numbers increase, they would repeatedly elect one such as the One?

Image Comrades PeoplesComrade and R.O.C.K., the concept of "intelligence" sometimes apparently found in statists was elegantly captured, though used to describe our modern culture in general, by Michael Crichton when he coined the term "thintelligence". That is, very narrow, shallow expertise in a particular field or discipline, such as professor of economics or climate scientist, with no corresponding understanding of the broader issues of life, such as the intertwining relationships of actual human interactions in commerce brought about by our wetwired methods of conducting our lives and working together (their models are based on ants, not humans), or the way nature points to creation and not chaos, etc.

And they have been conditioned like Pavlov's dog to follow a certain stimulus with a certain response - in their case, associating "Progressivism" with "cool", "hip", "gangsta", or whatever the word du jour happens to be. It makes them feel good about their depravity and larcenous hearts and vile desires. After all, if everybody does it, it can't be wrong. If it feels good, do it! And statists - control freaks in general - are all about feeling, not about helping, or doing, or caring - which involves doing. Those three are just words to them that they've learned to use to trick the unsuspecting or dull into thinking they are on some high moral plane. They believe speaking the words is the same as performing the actions that the words imply. But James points out their folly: "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works." They daren't go there, lest their works be shown for what they are. They employ a form of magical, delusional believing; they think they do good works by the words they speak.

In fact, they have no interest in morality as it applies to making people's lives better. Just the opposite is what they achieve, though they may not admit it even to themselves. It's so blissful being blind to one's depravity and greed! At least, they won't admit to themselves consciously what effect their tinkering and meddling have. Perhaps because they need to believe someone other than themselves is responsible for the bad consequences of their actions, they accuse others of what they themselves are guilty of. Transference is so common in the statist as to be almost defining.

After all, they can't, by definition because of their beliefs, be the agents or causes of misery, or poverty, or slavery. So shift the blame! “It's not us,” they cry, “it's the fault of those who don't believe as we believe.” Yet, when it is pointed out to them that the results of their beliefs are proven by history to cause human regression and degradation, they will not believe it. At best they will say, “Oh, they weren't as smart as we are. They didn't throw as much money at my pet issues. How dare you question my motives or my methods! I'm helping humanity! I'm part of the solution!” They are so blinded by the myth that mankind is always progressing, and that they are pushing mankind along on the path to “progress”, that they fail to see regression when it kicks them in their collective ass.

Self-delusion is impossible to penetrate by other mere mortals. And that is why they must be their own gods. Because if they recognize they are accountable to One Who made them, their worlds will be undone. It is more comfortable to them to be miserable in their fantasies and illogic and ignorance than to seek a Truth beyond themselves. Which is essentially why they are relativists.

But, if you would be so kind as to indulge me, this subject of intelligence is one I wish to pursue for a moment, since so many statists consider themselves so far above those backwards conservatives. (Is it any wonder the communist slogan is "FORWARD!"? Statists, whenever possible, speak the reverse of the truth.) Forgive me for invoking my handle's namesake and referring to an earlier posting I made on our beloved Cube, but C. S. Lewis spun this same concept in a delightful yarn called "Perelandra". In that story, the antagonist, Weston, was possessed by a devil, and could talk eloquently for hours on the most erudite subjects - and his, or his demon's, purpose was to spin a bit of truth and a lot of blathering into webs of lies. But that was only a veneer; the demon-possessed Weston was even more compelled to do disgusting things with his body, or torture and kill small animals, or just sit for long periods and bark obscenities on occasion, if there was no need to invoke his cloak of "intelligence" to deceive people.

Comrade R.O.C.K., you are correct in your reflection that "...liberals in general are people who, for one reason or another, never finished maturing emotionally and mentally." It is because of this, and pride, that they are unable to admit they are capable of human error, overcome their statist delusions, and apply their God-given intelligence to begin to explore Truth.

I especially like the Dr. Moreau reference. It brought so many liberal faces to my minds eye. The maturational stunting seems insightful.

I have read some Crichton but don't remember thintelligence. I love the term. Now I have nomenclature for what I describe so often when evaluating intelligent people believing such stupid things.

Thank you both for your contribution to sanity.

Comrade PeoplesComrade, thank you for stimulating an opportunity to share our Collective thoughts via Red Square's most equally FORWARD!™-thinking Collective!

But we must be careful. Thinking leads to denouncement, and denouncement leads to the gulags! Or is it the other way around? Pardon me while I tune my tinfoil hat to pick up Laika's broadcast of The Current Truth™.

You're right, Comrade Redum. Thinking leads to thought crimes that lead to actual actions such as moving the mouth parts to form paragraphs of protest and revelations of truth. Such things cannot be allowed when complete harmony and tolerance are the O-rder of the day.

It won't be long before the gulags will be filled with those who "think" the wrong way. As Dear Leader™ said, as way of a dog whistle warning, "THE BEST IS YET TO COME (exclamation point)". One must only look at what he and his ilk consider the "best" in order to prepare for the worst. The Christians will be first to go.

Comrade R.O.C.K., I'm beginning to wonder what "the real world" is anymore. Apparently it is not what I thought it was, nor what I think it should be. Seems there is some work to be done. Image All this "thinking"! What time is the train and to what station do I report?

Comrade Sugar Daddy Bear formerly known as Corporeal Whinny, while we Progs see that 0ur Savior Barack Hussein 0bama (mmm-mmm-mmm!) is the author of harmony and tolerance, we also know that Christians are the evil antithesis of Dear 0leader in that they are discordant to our message as well as being Racist, Tearrorist, Bigoted, Homophobic, Anti-Religion-Of-Peace™, and just plain mean. They think they serve a higher God than our god 0bama, and that our god is false, and therefore they try to interfere with our Glorious Pogroms Programs! This is intolerable!

That is why, as you said, “The Christians will be first to go.”

Yes, 0bama's Best is his enemies' destruction. Remember our god 0bama also said, and he meant it, “You ain't seen nothin' yet.” Even if it takes Four More Years™.

Hmm… Sugar Daddy Bear. Is that perhaps an effort to get closer to 0ur Santa Claus Ceasar 0'Leader, The Candy Man?

Why, Comrade Fhalkyn, not only do you fly high in the cramped big benighted bright 0bama sky, you have a brilliant point!

Everyone knows stuff with lots of words must be super important and super good for The People™. (Just look at 0bamadon'tcare)

Not that I would try to ever draw attention to myself. Oh, no. We all know that I am 0ne of the most equally humble Progs you're ever likely to meet.

Now pay attention ta me 'cause I got sumpin impotent muey importante ta say!

Volume is everything my friends and if you can throw in a little Spanish lingo, all the better. We are all Hispanic now. Enhorabuena!

User avatar
Shout it loud! In three words or less! Or four in the Official Language of 0bamaland (but Uncle Joe'll tell you it's still three):
Alabado sea dios 0bama!

User avatar
Comrades,

The only Obamaland phrase I hear often is "ADIOS GRINGOS!" Does anyone know what that means?

User avatar
Image My wife and I have spoken of extricating ourselves before we are ejected - or more probably, escorted to the gulag - from the 0bamanation by the up-and-coming 0bamacorpsemen. Question: Where to go? Is there a non-statist nation left on earth?

User avatar
Ahhh, that IS the question, Commissar - and I believe that the answer is, for the most part, "no".

However - and this is what's at the crux of the biscuit at this point, in my opinion - a better question might be "Is there a nation whose non-what-America-once-was-ness I could relatively easily tolerate?" Or even, "Is there a nation where I could stay out of the way and live decently without fear of eventual arrest?"

Friends of mine are considering Mexico. Others have already moved to New Zealand. Canada isn't outside the realm of possibility, although it's mostly a suburb of the USA and will be affected by what happens here more than the other two I mentioned. None of these would I have even considered before the 2012 election. But now? It's very likely that any of them would be better than what's coming here.

Time will tell.

User avatar
Might I suggest Tennessee? Or maybe even Australia? Even Singapore has very low taxes, very business-friendly, and for the most part more kapitalist than Obamaland could ever hope to be.

Comrade Redumbdimski,

" In every organization, there is always someone who knows everything that's going on.
This person must be eliminated at all costs."

Yes, your expositions are most illuminating, and have gained the attention of more than a few within the upper circles of Party leadership. Congratulations tovarich !

BTW: Did you know that you're being followed ?

My friends, I've had this dream for a while now...

(Yes, that's a semi-accurate quote from Robocop, in the days before 0bamabots, when Reagan got the fed as out of our faces as he could and the Progs were desperately afraid of him and Evil Corporate AmeriKKKa!)

This most recent farce of an election has prompted me to wish wholeheartedly that Texazistan would secede to become the Republic of Texazistan.

Comrades Tovarichi and Father Prog Theocritus! Let us band together with your Collective! Tov, I volunteer to change the People's Tractor's oil - once we are permitted again to produce it in our new Republic.

Unworkable.

Impossible.

No one would dare lift a finger to make it so.

I know.

But more realistically...
Krasnodar wrote:" In every organization, there is always someone who knows everything that's going on.

That would be - not one, but all of us.

There's something we all must remember, and must consider:

They who control the world's information, control the world.

Comrade Tovarich and I have thought of Oman, where we can make a living tax free. Yes, Oman. And other Middle East states. Under the present circumstances though, how long would this "opportunity" last? Hmmmm?

Oleander's administration has already been messing with foreign banks for years. These banks are totally intimidated by this administration.

I can actually see some fun ahead in Texas with Father Prog and Tovarichi. Texas has great resources in agriculture, oil, ports, AND an independent, self-sufficient energy grid, etc. and some serious huevos!

Texas has also been infiltrated by progressives fleeing from states they have ruined. So we must beware.

God Help Us!
