CLYDE, N.Y. – Fox News reports: Four young children were forcibly seized, held captive in the madman's palace of horrors, verbally taunted, and threatened with a severe hammer bludgeoning by a Wayne County, N.Y. man after they were found practicing newly acquired carpentry skills in a neighbor's unoccupied home.

It all began when Jesse Daniels was interrupted during his nightly TV viewing by loud hammering and other sounds of construction work next door.

As it turned out, the industrious boys had decided to renovate the unoccupied home of Mr. Daniels' neighbor as a summer project and to participate more fully in the town's ongoing efforts to improve their rural community.

Mr. Daniels ordered his wife to call 911 and stormed from his home toward the construction site next door. Upon reaching the neighbor's house, and without knocking, Mr. Daniels burst into the unlocked home and located the boys hard at work in an upstairs bedroom. In a violent rage, Daniels ripped a hammer from one of the boys hands and began screaming obscenities at the top of his lungs.

The frightened children recoiled in horror as the madman lunged toward them yelling and swinging the weapon threateningly. Daniels then roughly grabbed the boys by their necks and forced them into an empty closet. One traumatized child later describe the viscous stranglehold as “terrifying”.

Paul Bowler, the boy's father, agreed adding:

"I understand they were in the wrong, but there are other ways to handle it," he said. "He (Daniels) knew who the kids were. It's not like they were strangers. Send the kids home and call the cops. You don't sit there and torment them and tell them you're going to bash their skulls in with a hammer."

According to FOX News:

“Daniels has been charged with child endangerment after corralling the boys in a closet until police arrived. Daniels was arraigned on four counts of endangering the welfare of a child after authorities say he interrupted the vandalism at the empty home in the Wayne County village of Clyde, midway between Rochester and Syracuse. Daniels is due back in court later this month. It wasn't immediately clear if he has a lawyer. Wayne County District Attorney Richard Healy told the station that the incident is still under investigation.”

The boys are recovering from their ordeal and undergoing routine PTSD therapy in their respective homes. Bowler, two of the children's father, said Daniels grabbed the neck of one of his sons and left a mark. He said that his boys are traumatized and that Daniels should have faced more charges.
