[off] I replaced the wooden stock on my PMT with a synthetic Dragunov style stock. The stock needs some trimming, clearance for the scope mount, bevel the sides where the gas tube fits into the stock.

He's been awarded the meaningless title of Obamissar of People's Morale Enforcers by me. Being an Obamissar means about as much as being a Community Organizer, but it sounds good and it makes proles think it's a title so has some purpose and rates a bit more reverence than is reserved for a mere prole.
When the goal is international Communism under Party-led hegemony, the origin of the weapon matters not; they're all red on the inside. As Comrade7.62 will undoubtedly state, some are more equal than others, however. He has many others, as I'm sure he'll explain. He's probably down in his workshop in the PPC of Obama, binging on Vodka, and producing People's Rifles.

I have a Tula made SKS built in 1955 that is a very slick shooter, so I started accumulating all manner of SKS parts to make sure it keeps running for a very long time. Then I planned to build a Romanian G AK kit, and started acquiring mags. Then this SKS-M popped up at a very reasonable price. And I thought to myself I could now have the best of both worlds, and not have to keep parts around for two guns. Plus I get a milled receiver. I'm thinking about an AK pistol build now in 5.45

Ahh but the SKS-M will be more equal when I mount a bipod on it, and a receiver mounted scope mount. Plus firesights. THEN I will have a People's Designated Marksman Morale Enforcer, and my good Tula made Russian SKS will remain stock, including the bayonet on the end. Besides there are ways to legally retrofit an SKS-M to take a bayonet. I'm just not interested in doing so. If I need a bayonet, one of my Mosin Nagant 91/30's will do the job quite well.
And do not forget that it was the glorious Russians who taught the Chinese to build SKS rifles.

Since ABS plastic can be electroplated, I can put a nice pimp-o-licious- finish on the guns, and even build up a bit of metal on the bore. Of course since they will mostly be flashed around and shoved in waistbands, it does not matter how well they hold up to actual fire. Of course they will chamber the mighty .25acp round, so perhaps the fact they are made of plastic with a bit of chrome plating is meaningless.
